A new lifestyle hotel is opening in Fukuoka's Tenjin district on April 20, 2026. THE KNOT FUKUOKA Tenjin (ザ ノット 福岡天神) is designed around the concept of a "restaurant hotel" — a place where the dining experience is the main draw, and guests can simply stay on after their meal.

Built on the concept of "a neighborhood salon that ignites the senses," the hotel places its restaurant and bar at the heart of the property. The bar also serves as the reception area, creating a seamlessly open space where hotel guests and restaurant visitors naturally intermingle. With 206 guest rooms, the property aims to become a new gathering hub in Tenjin.

MORETHAN: An All-Day Dining Restaurant on the First Floor

The first-floor restaurant, MORETHAN (モアザン), is an all-day dining spot serving Spanish-Italian cuisine using ingredients from Fukuoka and across Kyushu. Open to both hotel guests and locals, MORETHAN is designed as a place where residents and travelers can naturally come together.

One of MORETHAN's signature offerings is a "Farm to Pizza" initiative. The restaurant uses fresh cheese and yogurt produced at UBUYAMA PLACE (ウブヤマ プレイス), a farm facility located in Ubuyama Village in Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture. The pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven made by Acunto Mario, an Italian manufacturer with over 100 years of history.

The menu will include the popular Margherita from UBUYAMA PLACE as well as original pizzas created exclusively for THE KNOT FUKUOKA Tenjin. Pizzas are available at lunch and dinner.

A Hotel Breakfast Built Around Wood-Fired Focaccia

Breakfast at MORETHAN revolves around freshly baked wood-fired focaccia. The semi-buffet spread features focaccia sandwiches filled with prosciutto and mozzarella, alongside yogurt from UBUYAMA PLACE and seasonal fruits. Offering wood-fired dishes at breakfast is a relatively rare concept, bringing a distinctive smoky aroma to the morning meal.

The bar counter features 15 taps in total — 8 of which pour tap cocktails, a format making its Kyushu debut, while the remaining 7 serve carefully selected craft beers from across Kyushu. Like draft beer, tap cocktails are dispensed directly from the tap, ensuring quick service and consistent quality while adding a live element to the experience.

The bar is open to all visitors, not just hotel guests, positioning itself as a new addition to Tenjin's nightlife scene.

The hotel offers 206 guest rooms across three types: Superior Semi-Double, Superior Queen, and Superior King — designed to accommodate both business travelers and leisure guests.

Ranging from 12㎡ to 17㎡, the rooms follow a minimal design philosophy that strips away excess while maintaining continuity with the atmosphere of the first-floor restaurant and lounge. The goal is a hotel that makes Tenjin itself the destination — with the shared spaces designed for eating, conversation, and connecting with the city.
