For an early morning experience, the breakfast buffet plan at Guest Lounge "Atrium" is recommended. Guests can enjoy a buffet featuring over 100 items before the museum tour. The buffet has received acclaim from many guests to the point of becoming a reason to stay at the hotel. Currently, outside visitors cannot access this exclusive space, offering a special morning experience.
For those interested in learning about the hotel and station building's history, choose the lunch plan at Main Dining Restaurant "Blanc Rouge" or Bar & Cafe "Camellia." These plans include a popular hotel tour led by hotel staff, guiding guests to special areas normally accessible only to hotel guests. All plans include a ticket to the "Twilight, Shin-hanga – From Kobayashi Kiyochika to Kawase Hasui" exhibition (February 19 - May 24, 2026) at Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, valid for any day during the exhibition period, including the plan date. With each day limited to 15 guests, early reservation is recommended.
Mitsubishi Ichigokan was built in 1894 as Mitsubishi's first office building in the Marunouchi office district development. This red-brick Western-style office building was designed by Josiah Conder, mentor to Tatsuno Kingo who designed Tokyo Station's Marunouchi building. The current structure has been faithfully restored according to Conder's original design. Parts of preserved materials, such as stone handrails in the stairwell, have been reused inside the building. Not only the design and materials but also manufacturing methods and construction techniques have been reproduced through detailed research.

Kobayashi Kiyochika "Tokyo Shinhashi Uchu-zu" (1876) Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, Kobayashi Kiyochika/National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution, Robert O. Muller Collection, S2003.8.1102
Twilight, Shin-hanga – From Kobayashi Kiyochika to Kawase Hasui
Exhibition period: February 19 (Thursday) - May 24 (Sunday), 2026
Organizers: Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, The Asahi Shimbun
That light alone never faded.
The "Tokyo Meisho-zu" (Famous Places of Tokyo) series initiated by Kobayashi Kiyochika, one of the last ukiyo-e artists, in 1876 (Meiji 9) brought major transformation to Meiji-era landscape prints. These works depicting twilight expressions and light sparkling in darkness were called "kosen-ga" (light-ray pictures), capturing even Edo's atmosphere through deep shadows. This perspective overlapped with the sentiments of people mourning the disappearing traces of Edo and photographers' ambition to record them, setting it apart from the "kaika-e" (civilization and enlightenment pictures) where contemporary ukiyo-e artists captured transforming cities through vibrant colors with optimism. The shin-hanga movement aimed at reviving ukiyo-e in the late Meiji period inherited not only the techniques but also the sentiment that Kiyochika and others tried to preserve on canvas, discovering new Japanese landscapes. This exhibition traces the flow of landscape prints from Kiyochika to Yoshida Hiroshi and Kawase Hasui through the Muller Collection at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art.
