Ten years have passed since Uniqlo U's first collection launched in 2016, and this fall/winter marks the culmination of the line's first chapter — the final collection led by designers Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran. The "Future LifeWear" philosophy they have pursued together with UNIQLO comes through once again this season in a beautiful harmony of form, material and color, completed as clothing for the times.
Uniqlo U's signature precision tailoring and timeless design carry on unchanged into the line's second chapter.
Comment from the Designers
Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran:
"Building Uniqlo U together with UNIQLO has truly been an exhilarating journey. This project represents a genuine achievement for us — a moment where a dream came true, bringing high-quality, stylish apparel suited to everyday life to a wide range of people. We had long admired Mr. Yanai's LifeWear philosophy of clothing for everyone, an idea that stands at the opposite end of the spectrum from fast fashion, which is why being invited by him to join UNIQLO's design family was an incomparable honor. Working alongside an excellent MD and R&D team, we learned a great deal from their passion for quality and their constant pursuit of perfection and improvement, qualities distinct to Japan. We feel this past decade has been one of the best periods of our careers as designers."
Comment from Tadashi Yanai
Chairman and President, Fast Retailing Co., Ltd.:
"Ten years have passed since we entrusted Christophe Lemaire with leading our Paris R&D Center to advance UNIQLO's LifeWear. Sarah-Linh Tran later joined the team, and it goes without saying that their wonderful aesthetic sense and creativity elevated Uniqlo U into the 'Future LifeWear' beloved by customers around the world. We express our deep respect and gratitude for the passion they have poured into UNIQLO, and hope our friendship continues in the years ahead."

Womenswear: Soft Materials and Structural Silhouettes
Symbolized by the satin combination dress, designs that combine softness with structure achieve both a supple feel and a beautiful silhouette. The compact shape of the hybrid down short jacket and the structural shoulder line of the coated blouson were designed to move with the wearer.
Menswear: Function and Individuality
The menswear collection blends the function and style needed for everyday clothing into pieces worn as self-expression. A highly warm wool-blend short coat that incorporates workwear elements, and a mods coat reconstructed with a modern touch, are paired with an accent bright red to highlight the wearer's individuality.
