THE BASE GLAMPING YUGAWARA (Miyakami 473-1, Yugawara-machi, Ashigara-shimo-gun, Kanagawa) is holding a special summer program called "YUGAWARA SUMMER MARCHE" from July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026. The event is designed to help guests experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of a Japanese summer in the lush natural surroundings of Yugawara.
About THE BASE GLAMPING YUGAWARA
THE BASE GLAMPING YUGAWARA is a hot spring glamping facility nestled in the rich natural setting of Yugawara. Each room is a fully independent private space, and every room features its own open-air bath fed by natural spring water sourced directly from the property — one of the facility's greatest appeals. Guests can enjoy Yugawara Onsen in complete privacy.
Dining takes place at an open-air fireside dining space that emphasizes harmony with nature, where guests enjoy glamping cuisine made with generous use of locally sourced, fresh ingredients from Yugawara. The glow of the campfire creates an atmospheric, otherworldly setting that lets guests forget the stress of daily life.
Some rooms are also pet-friendly, welcoming guests' dogs to join the journey. The spacious private spaces make for unforgettable memories with every member of the family.

YUGAWARA SUMMER MARCHE
Dates: July 1 (Wednesday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026
Throughout the event period, the marche area will be decorated with Japanese paper lanterns (chochin). As evening falls, a soft, warm light fills the space, evoking a simple and nostalgic Japanese aesthetic.
The "Shun-sai Taiken" (seasonal tasting experience) features a variety of items that showcase the natural bounty of Yugawara:

- "Summer Herb Craft Soda" — made with syrups from yamamomo (Japanese bayberry) and ume (Japanese plum) grown on the property (also available as a cocktail or shaved ice topping)
- "Yugawara Ramune" — a refreshing local soda drink
- "Watermelon Smoothie" — blended with plenty of fresh watermelon
- Sweet corn with natural sweetness
- Specially made chilled ice cream and sorbet for dogs — so furry companions can cool down too
Herb mist with insect-repelling properties is set up on the fireside deck, so when the sun goes down, guests can unwind in the comfortable summer night air surrounded by a pleasant herbal scent.

Obon Special: A Moment of Japanese Tradition
Dates: August 8 (Saturday) to August 16 (Sunday), 2026
During the Obon holiday period, guests can enjoy a fox mask painting workshop, where they freely paint their own original kitsune (fox) mask, as well as 線香花火 (senko hanabi, sparkler fireworks) that create a fleeting, beautiful light on summer nights. Wearing the matching parent-and-child 作務衣 (samue, traditional work garments) provided in each room makes for refreshing, photogenic summer memories.

Firewood Splitting and Fire-Starting Experience
Dates: August 8 (Saturday) to August 16 (Sunday), 2026
A firewood-splitting experience lets guests enjoy the satisfaction of splitting logs with their own hands. Joining it this time is a fire-starting experience using a fire starter — guests split the wood themselves and then build the fire from scratch. Staff are on hand to provide careful guidance on fire handling, so even beginners and children can participate safely. Those who successfully complete the challenge from beginner to advanced levels will receive an official "THE BASE GLAMPING Certificate."
Onsen, Samue, and an Evening BBQ
All rooms are equipped with a private open-air bath fed by natural hot spring water. In summer, soaking slowly at a temperature close to body heat — known as "fukanon-do" (non-sensation temperature) — is recommended as a gentle way to restore the body. A quick shoulder-deep soak before the BBQ washes away sweat and leaves guests feeling refreshed, making the fireside time that follows remarkably comfortable. Changing into the soft matching samue after the bath and gathering around the table in a cool, relaxed mood is a truly special experience.

Private Sauna for the Whole Family
The Sauna Suite Base room features a private sauna with a well-designed circuit connecting the outdoor relaxation space and the cold-water bath — a layout that children may enjoy as a natural pool. Adults can pursue their "totonou" (harmonious relaxation) experience while kids have the run of the space.
Note: THE YUGAWARA with SAUNA room type does not accommodate guests under 12 years of age.

A Small Gift for the Kids
During the event period, children receive a "THE BASE GLAMPING original coloring book" and a set of colored pencils. It is a summer souvenir that lets them recreate the breezes, light, and experiences of Yugawara using color.
A summer where adult time and family memories intertwine — amid the quiet, cool forest of Yugawara, where hot springs, campfires, nature, and the spirit of a Japanese summer all come together. Guests are warmly invited to spend a special summer at THE BASE GLAMPING YUGAWARA with family or friends.
