ZENB JAPAN (a Mizkan Group company based in Handa, Aichi) has expanded its ZENB Baked Donut lineup with two new glazed varieties: Coffee Glazed and Lemon Glazed. Both flavors launched on June 10, 2026, and are available through the ZENB official website as well as Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba, Yahoo! Shopping, and Qoo10.
A Guilt-Free Donut Built on Yellow Peas
The ZENB Baked Donut series was developed to offer a genuinely enjoyable snack without compromise on health. The donuts are made without wheat flour, using whole yellow peas — skin and all — as the base. Animal-derived ingredients such as eggs and dairy are also left out of the recipe. The resulting texture is moist and slightly chewy, with a restrained sweetness that has appealed to those following gluten-free or plant-based diets.
Each donut contains 158 kcal or less, 23% less sugar than a standard cake donut (as compared using Japan's Standard Tables of Food Composition 2020, 8th edition), and provides dietary fiber. The yellow pea base also contributes iron, potassium, and polyphenols.
Crispy Glaze Meets Chewy Dough
The two new additions introduce a glazed-donut format to the series. A beet sugar glaze is applied to the outside, creating a crystallized crunch that contrasts with the soft, chewy bean-flour dough beneath — offering a more satisfying donut experience while keeping the health-conscious profile intact.
The Coffee Glazed variety uses coffee in both the dough and glaze, resulting in a mellow bitterness with a lingering roasted finish. The Lemon Glazed variety incorporates lemon powder into the glaze for a bright, tangy sweetness.
Convenient for Everyday Snacking
The donuts are individually packaged and can be stored at room temperature. The best-before date is 120 days from the date of manufacture (delivered with at least 30 days remaining from order date), making them well-suited for pantry stocking or rolling stock use.
