TSP Taiyo Co., Ltd. (head office: Meguro City, Tokyo; President: Keigo Ikezawa), which handles planning, operation, and venue construction, is opening a new urban summer festival called "Ariake Summer Splash" on weekends throughout August (excluding the 29th and 30th) at livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK in Tokyo's Ariake.
The event is hosted by Tokyo Sports Wellness Village Co., Ltd. and gives a major upgrade to "Water Survival Game," a water play event that proved highly popular last summer for getting participants thoroughly soaked. It also mixes in the budget-friendly "One-Coin Festival" and the "Cool-Down Fest," which gathers cooling food and drink, making it an urban summer festival that families can enjoy for a full day.
With strict safety management based on the WBGT heat stroke alert system, the event proposes water play close to home as a new way to spend summer.
Background
With another nationwide heat wave expected in the summer of 2026, more people are avoiding outdoor play because of the heat. At the same time, prolonged price increases and a weak yen appear to be strengthening a preference across generations for nearby leisure that offers real value rather than travel further afield. "Ariake Summer Splash" was planned around the idea of turning play itself into a way to beat the heat, by dousing participants in comfortably cool water, in a location with good access from central Tokyo that lets visitors enjoy an open, summery feeling without spending on transportation or lodging. To fully guard against heat and heat stroke, the venue is equipped with mist fans, mist showers, ice for cooling down, and water play pools, creating an environment where visitors can enjoy outdoor play safely while feeling cool through all five senses. Combining energetic water play with a traditional summer festival, the event brings a new style of urban leisure to Tokyo in the summer of 2026.

"Water Survival Game," Now Bigger Than Last Year (all weekends)
The water gun battle that proved a hit last summer returns with a significantly expanded battle court. New formats include the "Kids Water Battle," a 10-vs-10 match, and "Take Down the Hunter Together," where players team up to knock down a target, alongside a variety of events for all ages and genders to enjoy.

One-Coin "Summer Festival" (August 1–2, 15–16)
Familiar festival games such as shooting galleries, super ball scooping, and yo-yo scooping are all available for just ¥500 (one coin). An attraction where completing a bingo card earns a chance to grab candy (available as a ring-toss or strike game) is also offered.

"Cool-Down Fest" for the Senses (August 22–23)
Five food trucks offering cold sweets and ice-cold beer will be on hand, ideal for cooling down after actively splashing around in the water. Not just families, but adults and couples can also relax and enjoy a refreshing summer feeling.
