Café Kitsuné, a café offering specialty coffee in a space where visitors can experience unique and inspiring "Art de Vivre (the art of living)," will release "Galette des Rois (Matcha & Almond)" for a limited time starting Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Galette des Rois is a traditional French pastry eaten on January 6th during Epiphany. It consists of flaky puff pastry filled with almond cream, with a small ceramic figure called a "fève" hidden inside. The person who finds the fève in their slice is celebrated as the "king" or "queen" for the day, symbolizing family and friends gathering together.
The Galette des Rois that Café Kitsuné is releasing features an original recipe combining fragrant almond cream with aromatic Uji matcha for a Japanese-inspired essence. When you bite into the crispy puff pastry, the bittersweet and rich matcha flavor spreads in your mouth. It comes with an original fève featuring a cute Barista Fox design, so you can enjoy this traditional French custom at home.

"Galette des Rois (Matcha & Almond)" is available exclusively at Café Kitsuné Aoyama for a limited time and quantity starting January 3, 2026 (Saturday). Individual portions can also be enjoyed in-store. Whole cakes require advance reservations by the day before your desired pickup date. Please contact the Aoyama store for details.
