Dole Japan Introduces Dole Kaiju Dragon, a Jumbo-Sized Dragon Fruit from Vietnam

A new oversized dragon fruit has joined the Dole Japan lineup. Dole Kaiju Dragon is a red-fleshed dragon fruit grown in Vietnam that is approximately twice the size of the dragon fruits Dole has previously sold, according to the company.

Dole Kaiju Dragon lifestyle shot

Dragon fruit — also known by its alternate name "pitaya" — is a nutrient-dense fruit containing magnesium, vitamin B1, potassium, and folic acid. The red-fleshed variety in particular is notable for betacyanin, a type of polyphenol that gives it its vivid color.

Despite its spiky outer appearance, dragon fruit is easy to prepare: the skin peels off by hand, and the flesh inside is soft and juicy. Its light, refreshing sweetness makes it versatile enough for desserts, salads, and smoothies alike. The fruit's striking visual appeal has also made it a popular choice as a "party fruit" that adds color and excitement to any table.

Dole Kaiju Dragon's oversized format is intended to deliver an extra-satisfying eating experience, making it well-suited for gatherings and family meals. Its bold presentation also lends itself naturally to sharing on social media.
