Gatten Sushi Launches Limited-Time "Umai Mono Matsuri" Menu Featuring Regional Seafood from Across Japan (May 22 – June 21, 2026)

Gatten Sushi, the gourmet conveyor belt sushi chain, is holding its "Umai Mono Matsuri" (Festival of Regional Delicacies) from May 22 (Friday) to June 21 (Sunday), 2026, featuring a lineup of limited-time menu items that spotlight seasonal seafood sourced from regions across Japan.

The campaign brings in early-summer fish such as Isaki (chicken grunt) from Oita and Ehime prefectures — a coastal variety cherished since ancient times — alongside flame-torched sardines from Chiba and Hokkaido, served fresh from the broiler so the fat sizzles and comes alive with every piece.

Menu Highlights

Umai Mono 5-Piece Nigiri Set

Umai Mono 5-Piece Nigiri Set — ¥945 (tax incl. ¥1,039)

A curated set featuring five of the festival's standout pieces: Isaki, Chura-umi Fresh Bigeye Tuna, Flame-Torched Sardine, Swordfish Medium-Fatty Tuna, and Grilled Unagi (Shiro-yaki).

Isaki

Isaki (Oita / Ehime prefectures and others) — ¥560 (tax incl. ¥616)

Straight from the source, this piece balances rich fat and deep umami in every bite.

Chura-umi Fresh Bigeye Tuna

Chura-umi Fresh Bigeye Tuna (Okinawa) — ¥310 (tax incl. ¥341)

The fat melts at body temperature the moment it touches your tongue, releasing a clean, delicate umami.

Flame-Torched Sardine

Flame-Torched Sardine (Chiba / Hokkaido) — ¥250 (tax incl. ¥275)

Fragrant and lightly charred on the outside, with a rich, lingering sweetness from the fat inside.

Swordfish Medium-Fatty Tuna

Swordfish Medium-Fatty Tuna (Kanagawa / Shizuoka) — ¥360 (tax incl. ¥396)

Fat that softly unravels on the tongue, with a refined, clean finish.

Mozuku Kimchi Gunkan

Mozuku Kimchi Gunkan (Okinawa) — ¥190 (tax incl. ¥209)

A restrained sourness with a sharp kick of chili pepper, letting the natural oceanic aroma of mozuku seaweed come through clearly.
