GranSta Tokyo, the echelon shopping complex inside Tokyo Station operated by JR East Cross Station Development Company, has released a "Best 10" bento ranking based on genuine votes from 101 shop managers at GranSta Tokyo and GranSta Marunouchi. Every item on the list is a Tokyo Station exclusive, spanning far beyond bento shops — managers from sweets and lifestyle goods stores weighed in too, offering an authentic insider perspective on the best bento available at the station.
Ahead of Golden Week, here is a look at the full ranking.
The ranking reflects voluntary votes collected February 16–23 from 101 managers at GranSta Tokyo and GranSta Marunouchi. Managers voted for products outside their own company/group. All ranked items are year-round Tokyo Station–exclusive products (limited-edition products were excluded). One item per shop.

Yamagata Yukifuri Wagyu Obanazawa Sirloin & Ribeye Steak Bowl 150g — ¥5,250 / Niku Oroshi Kojima (Inside Ticket Gates, 1F Central Passage Area)
Among Yamagata Prefecture's black-haired Japanese wagyu, "Yukifuri Wagyu Obanazawa" is a particularly prized grade raised through the harsh cold of the Obanazawa area — one of Japan's three great snow regions, where temperatures between summer and winter can differ by around 50 degrees Celsius. That dramatic temperature swing naturally develops a fine marbling (sashi) in the beef. The premium wagyu is carefully grilled and served in a rice bowl; each bite reveals the beef's deep umami and a refined sweetness. The marbling melts like fresh powder snow. Also available from 100g at ¥3,650.

Voter comments (excerpts)
- "The marbling on black-haired wagyu — just the look of it tells you it's going to be extraordinary. No doubt about it!" (female)
