InterContinental Sapporo in Sapporo City, Hokkaido, announces the launch of new lunch menus at its all-day dining restaurant "AuBlanc" and specialty restaurant "SAWAKA" starting February 2026.

Centered on Hokkaido ingredients, these new lunch experiences offer "the joy of choice," "visual beauty," and "satisfying flavors" in an accessible yet refined setting perfect for everyday dining.

AuBlanc | Lunch & Sweets Buffet – Strawberry Selection

This buffet features glamorous sweets and bakery items showcasing seasonal strawberries, an international appetizer buffet centered on Hokkaido winter ingredients, and a selection of authentic main dishes to choose from.

The experience balances "the indulgence of unlimited sweets," "the joy of choosing," and "satisfying meal quality" in a new approach to lunch dining.

International Cuisine Highlighting Natural Ingredients

The appetizer buffet follows a "Bistronomy-Inspired International Cuisine" theme with offerings such as yellowtail carpaccio, surf clam and citrus salad, cheese selection featuring Hokkaido brie and Parmigiano-Reggiano, strawberry and mozzarella caprese, and beef carpaccio vitello tonnato style, all emphasizing the natural flavors of quality ingredients. The selection also includes vegetable-forward dishes like winter vegetable mousse, quinoa with beets and feta cheese, spinach quiche Lorraine, and Hokkaido vegetable and truffle cheese fritters. Hot items include braised cod and Chinese cabbage, rigatoni with mentaiko cream sauce, seafood paella with sake lees and garlic mayonnaise, and tomato-simmered beef meatballs and squid.

The live station offers freshly prepared Hokkaido ramen made to order.

Strawberry Sweets & Bakery

Featuring seasonal strawberries, the dessert selection combines rich indulgence with delicate refinement perfect for Hokkaido winter. Offerings include white chocolate and strawberry mousse, strawberry panna cotta, strawberry tart, strawberry and almond financiers, strawberry macarons, and strawberry truffles, each balancing visual appeal with depth of flavor. The bakery selection features freshly baked items like strawberry Danish, strawberry and custard croissants, and strawberry cream cheese muffins.

Choice of Winter Main Dishes

Main dishes include seasonal fish prepared using the chef's recommended cooking method, steamed cod with shellfish sauce, homemade cured pork pot-au-feu with Hokkaido vegetables, braised bone-in chicken leg in red wine with couscous, and aged beef sirloin with premium May Queen potatoes steak frites (additional ¥5,000). Choose your preferred bistronomy-style winter dish, freshly prepared and served at your table.

Specialty restaurant "SAWAKA" introduces "Lunch & Sweets Irodori," a lunch course featuring an appetizer box, choice of charcoal-grilled main dish, seasonal rice, and dessert wagon, starting Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The course follows themes of "refined portions," "the joy of choice," and "aesthetically conscious dining experience," allowing guests to enjoy high-quality dishes in small portions at a comfortable pace. Emphasizing quality over quantity, the experience itself becomes part of the meal in SAWAKA's distinctive Japanese lunch style.

Additionally, SAWAKA's lunch service, previously available only on weekends and holidays, now extends to weekdays except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, making refined Japanese dining more accessible.

Appetizer Box

A beautifully arranged appetizer box features six seasonal items including eel, matcha, and shimeji tempura; seaweed salad with kombu-cured salmon; cabbage espuma with crab; pork, miso, and shiso gyoza; steamed vegetables; charcoal-grilled yellowtail with burnt soy sauce dashi and garlic oil; and abalone with alpine leek. Each item combines Japanese techniques with ingredient excellence to elegantly open the course.

Charcoal-Grilled Main

The main dish selection features meat prepared dramatically over charcoal fire, complemented by seasonal seafood options. Choose from grilled fish with braised daikon and miso espuma sauce, grilled pork loin with seasonal vegetables and miso-mustard sauce, chicken roulade with grilled onion and mushrooms in yuzu kosho cream sauce, or charcoal-grilled wagyu with grilled vegetables and wasabi beef sauce (additional ¥2,500), all maximizing ingredient flavors.

###釜炊き飯 (Kettle-Cooked Rice)

The meal includes freshly cooked Hokkaido kombu rice prepared to order, served with miso soup using Hokkaido miso and pickles. Enjoy the seasonal flavors that rise with the aroma.

Dessert Wagon

Desserts are presented wagon-style with several seasonal, beautifully crafted sweets. Choose from strawberry cream puff, matcha chiffon cake, azuki pound cake, kumquat tart, strawberry opera, and matcha-shiso panna cotta, presented and selected at your table.
