A New-Concept Store With the Brand's First Private Salon

John Lobb's Tokyo Midtown store reopens on September 2, 2026 as a new-concept store. The renewed boutique adds a private salon room, the first of its kind at any John Lobb directly operated store, giving customers a more relaxed, secluded space in which to work through a personal order.

At the center of the store stands a striking capsule fixture made of stainless steel. Its drawers hold an array of leather samples, color charts, soles, buckles, and other parts that customers can pick up and handle directly while building a pair of shoes that is entirely their own through the BY REQUEST service.

BY REQUEST is a pattern-order service: customers choose a style from John Lobb's current collection or its archive, then customize the materials and specifications to their liking. The store also continues to offer BESPOKE, the full made-to-order service rooted in John Lobb's origins, for a pair built entirely around exceptional craftsmanship.

Two Models Made Only for the Reopening

To mark the reopening, the Tokyo Midtown store is offering two store-exclusive models in limited quantities.

LAZENBY

LAZENBY is a semi-brogue revived from John Lobb's archive, built on the refined 7000 last and finished with a playful medallion. Delicate perforations run along both sides of the toe cap and laces, and fine stitching sweeps elegantly toward the vamp line, adding a note of poise to its otherwise classic profile. Classic elegance and a touch of playfulness meet in careful balance in this pair, available only in limited numbers.

TYNE II

The popular soft loafer TYNE II also gets a special edition finished in rare crocodile nubuck. It pairs TYNE II's light, relaxed wearing feel with the supple texture and understated matte finish unique to crocodile nubuck, striking a balance between an exotic-leather presence and a restrained, refined look.

BY REQUEST CAPSULE BRISTLE HIDE: A Two-Week Ordering Event

BY REQUEST CAPSULE BRISTLE HIDE

From opening day on September 2 through September 15, the store holds a limited-time ordering event called "BY REQUEST CAPSULE BRISTLE HIDE."

Bristle hide is a special material whose appeal lies in the rich texture and presence created by deliberately leaving the fine hair of the calf leather intact. For this event, all six bristle hide colors, not normally available through the standard BY REQUEST service, are on offer across four models: LOPEZ, LOPEZ RING, SMITH, and FREDDI.

Customers can have the entire upper made in a single bristle hide color, or combine it with another material such as calf, using bristle hide only on the apron or saddle for a wide range of material combinations. As with the standard BY REQUEST service, the sole, lining, buckles, and other specifications can also be customized.

LOPEZ and LOPEZ RING are additionally available to order in women's sizes.
