Kame no Yu by HATAGO INN Opens in Kumamoto City in November 2026 With Hot Springs and a Public Bathhouse

A hotel in Kumamoto City is being rebranded and will reopen as Kame no Yu by HATAGO INN in November 2026.

Convenient Location Near Kumamoto's Sports Park

The hotel sits just a 3-minute drive from the Kumamoto Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway and is adjacent to 熊本県民総合運動公園 (Kumamoto Prefectural General Sports Park). Along with business travelers, it is a convenient stop for those on long-distance journeys, as well as for sports teams and groups during tournaments or training camps.

A Full Range of Hot Spring Bathing Facilities

The hotel offers an extensive lineup of bathing facilities, including an indoor bath with continuously flowing natural hot spring water, an outdoor bath featuring a rock bath and a hinoki (Japanese cypress) bath, an open-air relaxation space, a private family bath, and a sauna. As has long been the case, these bathing facilities remain open to local residents as a public bathhouse, in addition to serving overnight guests.

Choose Your Stay, Starting With the Bath

Kame no Yu by HATAGO INN is the latest addition to the HATAGO INN hotel brand, which is built around the idea of enjoying a hotel stay for more than just sleeping. Its concept is "Choose your stay, starting with the bath."

The hotel aims to be a relaxing retreat for travelers coming from afar, while also remaining a public bathhouse familiar to local residents. Centered on its hot spring, it hopes to be a place where each guest can spend time in their own way.

After soaking in the baths, guests can cool down and relax in a newly added post-bath lounge. The restaurant also serves set meals and light dishes during the day, so day-trip guests can use it as well.

For overnight guests, the hotel is adding a new manga library called "Yuagari Bunko," stocked with several thousand volumes. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, along with a complimentary late-night snack service.

Whether for a quick soak on a day trip or a relaxed overnight stay, this hotel brings together lodging, dining, and relaxation with the bath at its heart.
