Suruga Health Land, a hot spring and hotel facility in Shizuoka City operated by Kur & Hotel Co., Ltd., renewed its 3rd-floor manga corner and lounge on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Following the renewal of the 12th-floor breakfast venue and 1st-floor shop in June 2026, this second phase of updates brings a new "Manga Park" and "Nagomi Lounge" to the 3rd floor.
"Manga Park" has been reborn as a space that offers more than just reading manga, with wood-toned bookshelves and areas of varying atmosphere that let guests enjoy choosing what to read and where to relax. The manga collection has also been expanded from about 5,000 volumes to about 10,000, offering an even wider range of titles.
"Nagomi Lounge" now features a raised platform with Ryukyu tatami seating, along with private single-occupancy "Okomori Booths" where guests can relax without worrying about those around them, creating a space for unhurried rest.
Whether after a bath or sauna session, or during a stay or day visit, guests can now spend their time at the facility reading manga or simply resting as they please.
About the 3rd-Floor "Manga Park"
A more spacious, relaxed manga space for enjoying more than just reading
The 3rd-floor manga corner has been renewed as "Manga Park."
The renewal roughly doubles the previous space. Wood-toned bookshelves have been installed, creating a calm atmosphere in which to enjoy manga at a relaxed pace.
The area combines a bright section in white tones with a more subdued, sophisticated section in darker tones, so guests can feel a different mood within the same overall space. Tiered seating areas and hanging chairs have also been added, making the space enjoyable not just for reading manga but for choosing where to spend time.
The manga collection has grown from about 5,000 volumes to about 10,000, spanning everything from popular current titles to nostalgic classics across a wider range of genres.
The space has been transformed into one where guests can settle in and enjoy manga during their downtime after a bath or during an overnight stay.
About the 3rd-Floor "Nagomi Lounge"
A modern Japanese-style "Nagomi Lounge" for relaxing on Ryukyu tatami or in private booths
The former lounge has been renewed as "Nagomi Lounge."
At its center is a raised Ryukyu tatami area where guests can stretch out or lie down in an open, relaxed space. Lattice-inspired Japanese design and warm wood tones create a calm, settled atmosphere within the facility.
On either side, a total of 20 private single-occupancy "Okomori Booths" have been installed, letting guests read manga or take a break at their own pace without concern for those nearby.
Indirect lighting has been used in both the tatami area and the booths for a soft, gentle atmosphere, while some booths incorporate a tiered layout for a playful, hideaway feel.
The lounge is well suited to resting after a bath or sauna session, or during a leisurely moment while staying at the hotel.

We want Suruga Health Land to be a facility where guests can spend their time as they please, not only in the baths and saunas but throughout the building.
For this renewal, we expanded the space to create "Manga Park," where guests can relax and enjoy manga, and "Nagomi Lounge," featuring Ryukyu tatami seating and private booths.
We will continue working to enhance the appeal of our shared spaces so that rest after a bath or sauna, and time spent in the building by our hotel guests, becomes even more comfortable and enjoyable.
