A new kanzashi has arrived at Kanzashi-ya Wargo (かんざし屋wargo), a handmade kanzashi (Japanese hair ornament) specialty shop that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The "Shizuku Suiren Ippon Kanzashi" (雫睡蓮一本簪) goes on sale on October 23 at Kanzashi-ya Wargo stores and on the EC site "The Ichi (座市)."
The kanzashi captures the scene of a water lily blooming on a clear water surface, along with sparkling droplets. A translucent water lily is set within a supple teardrop-shaped frame, bringing the feel of clear waterside air into the design. A bijou at the top and a long chain that sways delicately with every step catch the light, adding an unassuming charm and fresh elegance to the wearer's back view.
The design focuses on a clean balance that flows from the teardrop frame to the pearl, petals and chain. With a sharp silhouette that keeps the sweetness restrained, it is made to be easy for adult women to wear.
The kanzashi comes in three clear colors — Asagi (浅葱), Suisho (水晶) and Momo (桃) — and adds an elegant touch around the face, from everyday outfits to Japanese attire.
