Kawagoe Prince Hotel to Hold 35th Anniversary Special Show Kinpare: What Do You Do with Rakugo and Painting? on August 11

Kawagoe Prince Hotel (1-22 Shintomicho, Kawagoe, Saitama; General Manager: Manabu Takeiri) will hold a 35th anniversary special show, Kinpare: What Do You Do with Rakugo and Painting?, on Tuesday, August 11 (a national holiday), 2026.

Since opening in 1991, the hotel has grown alongside the local community, and this 35th anniversary special show is presented to bring culture and inspiration to the area. The show brings together illustrator and writer Kin Shiotani, known for capturing the charm of towns across Japan through a distinctive perspective, and rakugo performer Tatekawa Harunosuke, a member of the ogiri panel on Nippon TV's Shoten. Their collaborative live show blends brisk conversation with a drawing performance that unfolds right in front of the audience, alongside a traditional rakugo story passed down since the Edo period, for a stage that can only be experienced here.

Before the show, hotel chefs will prepare a Japanese-Western-Chinese lunch buffet. The spread includes more than 20 dishes, among them live-cooking items such as roast beef and croque-monsieur plus crème brûlée, offering guests a refined dining experience unique to the hotel.
