A new running community is taking shape in Minato Mirai. MARK IS Minato Mirai (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), together with the running app Runtrip, is starting "Minato Mirai Run Club" from September 2026, a running community based in the Minato Mirai area.
The Minato Mirai area is known for its open seaside scenery and relatively few traffic signals, making it an easy area to run in for beginners and experienced runners alike. It's also home to a large concentration of companies, making it a good fit for health promotion and community-building through running. The new community will center on people who work in the Minato Mirai area, holding regular running events with the aim of building an ongoing local community through running.
MARK IS Minato Mirai is home to a range of shops with a strong connection to running, where visitors can pick up the latest running shoes, apparel, and gear all in one stop, along with shopping, meals, and time with fellow participants before and after a run. Using the facility as a base, the initiative aims to create connections not only among runners but also with the mall's tenants and workers, generating an ongoing cycle that links running, shopping, and dining. Making the most of Minato Mirai's distinctive appeal — including the chance to run while taking in its beautiful night views — the community will hold regular events that beginners and experienced runners alike can join easily. The first event is planned for September 17 (Thursday), aimed at workers from nearby companies.

MARK IS Minato Mirai is also holding an event well suited to the harvest season, "Flower and Food Experience Marché – Minato Mirai Autumn Harvest Festival," jointly with Landmark Plaza from September 12 (Saturday) to 24 (Thursday). It will feature a range of activities for children and adults alike, including a hands-on vegetable-grabbing experience, a quiz rally where participants can win vegetable seeds, and a LEGO® brick workshop for building flower-themed mini kits.
MARK IS Minato Mirai aims to keep energizing the Minato Mirai area as a place where people and the city connect, and that people want to visit as part of everyday life.
