Old-Time Showa Ginza Comes Back to Life in New "Let's Build Nostalgic Ginza" Diorama Partwork Series

Hachette Collections Japan launches "Let's Build Nostalgic Ginza," a partwork series that recreates the Showa-era streetscape of Ginza in 1/150 scale, on August 19, 2026 (Wednesday).

Numerous landmarks symbolizing Showa-era Ginza are rendered in three dimensions, with company logos, signage, and other details faithfully reproducing the design of the period. The atmosphere of "Ginza back then" comes back to life as a vivid, immersive diorama.

The Streetcar "Toden 5500" Runs Through a Showa-Era Townscape

By assembling the parts included with each issue, readers can complete a vivid diorama of the beloved Ginza streetscape, complete with a running streetcar. Landmark buildings from the era are recreated, including "Hattori Tokeiten (now Wako Main Building / SEIKO HOUSE GINZA)" and "Fujiya Sukiyabashi Store."

Beyond the streetscape itself, the collection also focuses on the movement of the Toden 5500 streetcar and the light-up of buildings and signage, evoking the memory of old-time Showa-era Ginza.
