Onigiri Specialty Shop "ONI&Co." Opens Second Location at GranSta Tokyo Inside JR Tokyo Station

"ONI&Co.," the onigiri specialty shop that has been gaining widespread attention on TV and radio for its carefully selected ingredients and vibrant presentation, is set to open its second location at GranSta Tokyo — the commercial facility inside JR Tokyo Station — on April 15, 2026.

ONI&Co. Arrives at Tokyo Station

The shop specializes in onigiri made with premium ingredients, with Aomori Prefecture's specially cultivated rice "Harewatari" as its foundation. From classic flavors like wild-caught salmon and seared mentaiko butter to distinctive seasonal limited offerings, each onigiri is crafted with an emphasis on ingredient pairing and a colorful finish. Since its first store opened, the shop has attracted coverage from numerous media outlets, particularly TV and radio.

With this new location at GranSta Tokyo, the shop enters one of Tokyo's busiest transit hubs, where travelers from across Japan and around the world pass through daily.

Menu

At the GranSta Tokyo location, both crowd-favorite items that gained attention on TV and limited offerings will be available.

Seared Mentaiko Butter onigiri

Chicken Nanban Bento with house-made tartar sauce

  • Seared Mentaiko Butter: Fresh and seared mentaiko (cod roe) are combined generously, then sealed in with rich butter for a full-flavored, vibrantly colored onigiri — one of the items that attracted attention on TV.

  • Chicken Nanban Bento: Chicken coated in a house-made sweet-and-sour sauce, topped with a generous serving of house-made tartar sauce. The bento comes with three of ONI&Co.'s signature onigiri for a hearty, satisfying meal.

The Rice: Specially Cultivated Aomori "Harewatari"

ONI&Co. uses "Harewatari," a specially cultivated rice variety from Aomori Prefecture. Grown in Aomori's natural environment — which is also the hometown of founder Miyuki Kawarada — the rice is prized for its fragrant aroma, elegant sweetness, and balanced stickiness, remaining delicious even when cooled. Only rice grown under special cultivation standards, with pesticide and chemical fertilizer use reduced to 50% or less of conventional farming levels in accordance with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries guidelines, is used at the shop.

A Message from Founder Miyuki Kawarada

Miyuki Kawarada, Representative Director of Rice Platformer, Inc.

"I am truly delighted and honored to be opening the second ONI&Co. location at GranSta Tokyo.

For me, having grown up in Hirosaki, Aomori, Tokyo Station has always been a 'place of beginnings' — school trips, university entrance exams, the milestones in my life always started from Tokyo Station. Being able to fly the flag of my own brand at this deeply meaningful place feels like destiny.

It has only been six months since we opened the Hatsudai store. For us, as a brand aiming to reach the world from Japan, opening at Tokyo Station — the gateway to the city — carries special significance. The fact that we, still in our early days, can take on such a wonderful place is entirely thanks to the encounters and support of so many people. We are deeply grateful to have come this far through what feels like a series of miraculous meetings."
