The anime theme park Nijigen no Mori on Awaji Island is running a summer-limited special mission called "Splash Godzilla 2026" at its popular attraction Godzilla Interception Operation, from July 10 (Friday) to September 30 (Wednesday), 2026.
A staple of summer at the park, this event features a thoroughly soaking zipline experience: as guests glide through the wide-open mouth of a stationary Godzilla on the "Internal Course," a massive water cannon fires straight up from below, drenching riders in an instant.
New this year is the "Soaking Wet SNS Video Campaign." Visitors who post a video of their dripping-wet selves on Instagram or TikTok with the designated hashtags can receive an exclusive Godzilla Interception Operation original merchandise item right on the spot — making for a fun social media moment on top of the ride itself.

About Godzilla Interception Operation

Godzilla Interception Operation is an entertainment attraction themed around a life-size, 120-meter Godzilla that has landed on Awaji Island. Participants take on the role of members of the National Godzilla Awaji Island Research Center, taking on missions that include a zipline through the intricately detailed interior of Godzilla's body and a shooting game to eliminate dispersed Godzilla cells.
The facility also features the world's first permanent "Godzilla Museum," a kids' area called "Kaijū no Mori" (Monster Forest) where children can freely play with approximately 50 types of monster figurines, and a range of other indoor attractions. Godzilla-themed food and original National Godzilla Awaji Island Research Center merchandise are also available on-site.
A wide range of Godzilla goods is on offer at the park — including hats, figures, and other items exclusive to Nijigen no Mori. Wearing stylish hats or cute headbands while taking on the attraction deepens immersion in the world of Godzilla.

Grand Chariot Hokuto Shichisho 135°: Godzilla Collaboration Room "Showa Toho Monster Archive Room"

Opened to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Godzilla Interception Operation – National Godzilla Awaji Island Research Center, the "Showa Toho Monster Archive Room" at Grand Chariot is a new Godzilla collaboration room. The space recreates the atmosphere of Showa-era Toho special-effects films, with 3D displays of weapons used against Godzilla in the original movies, alongside storyboards and sketches. Showa retro design elements — low dining tables, cushions, enamel signs bearing monster names, and shoji-style blackout curtains — complete the look, letting guests soak up the nostalgia alongside the monsters.
Accommodation perks include a Godzilla Interception Operation admission ticket, a genuine leather coaster embossed with the Godzilla design, and an art board featuring King Ghidorah — Godzilla's greatest enemy, who first appeared in "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster."
