New Japanese traditional costumes at STUDIO MARLMARL

New Costume Collection

This new release focuses on Japan's "tradition" and "white color," featuring specially styled traditional Japanese costumes.

The collection presents a fusion of traditional and modern elements, creating new Japanese traditional styles perfect for Shichi-Go-San celebrations.

Many of the costumes feature matching colors and patterns for boys and girls, making them ideal for sibling photo sessions.

Traditional Japanese costume collection overview

● Hakukaku (White Crane) - Available at both Marunouchi and Shibakouen locations

Hakukaku white crane traditional costume

size: 90cm/120cm

This dramatic girls' costume features white as the main color - representing "blank space = the color that reflects the future" - with Western elegance woven into the styling.

The crane-inspired headpiece evokes images of children soaring toward their future.

With the hifu (traditional vest), the costume exudes gentle elegance; without it, the look becomes crisp and beautiful.

● Hakuyou (White Distant) - Available at both Marunouchi and Shibakouen locations

Hakuyou white distant traditional costume

size: 90cm/110cm

Like "Hakukaku," this dramatic boys' costume also features white as the main color with Western elegance.

The 90cm size includes a hifu, while the 110cm features a haori (traditional jacket). Both can be worn as kimono-only for a dignified appearance.

The traditional elegance combined with white gradation styling brings out the pure beauty of children.

● Saika (Colored Mist) - Marunouchi location exclusive

Saika colored mist traditional costume

size: 90cm/120cm

This Marunouchi-exclusive girls' costume features antique rose patterns blooming vividly on yamabuki (golden yellow) fabric, wrapped in a softly flowing light purple veil. The special styling creates impressive harmony with "blue around the ears," "purple on the obi," and "green at the feet."

● Suika (Green Mist) - Marunouchi location exclusive

Suika green mist traditional costume

size: 90cm/110cm

This Marunouchi-exclusive boys' costume combines antique rose patterns blooming vividly on blue-green fabric with a softly flowing light gray veil. The mist-like veil gently envelops the child's hidden individuality, bringing out dynamism and refreshing presence.

● Hanakage (Flower Shadow) - Shibakouen location exclusive

Hanakage flower shadow traditional costume

size: 90cm/120cm

This Shibakouen-exclusive girls' costume features a restyled autumn grass pattern kimono and chrysanthemum obi inherited from Asakusa's flower districts (karyukai). The transparent, lightweight veil and metallic-gleaming "birakanzashi" (traditional hair ornament) enhance modest yet elegant beauty.

This costume embodies "dignified gentleness" through the fusion of Japanese tradition and modernity.

● Sumikage (Ink Shadow) - Shibakouen location exclusive

Sumikage ink shadow traditional costume

size: 90cm/110cm

Like "Hanakage," this Shibakouen-exclusive boys' costume features a restyled kimono in deep colors inherited from Asakusa's flower districts. The kimono's rich ink black color and the light layering of black veil create an aura of "sophistication and dignity."

The 90cm size features kimono styling, while the 110cm presents hakama styling.
