Toba International Hotel Unveils Oshawott-Themed Afternoon Tea Featuring Mie Delicacies

Toba International Hotel in Toba City, Mie Prefecture is launching a special afternoon tea in collaboration with Oshawott, Mie Prefecture's official supporting Pokémon. This limited-time offering celebrates both Oshawott Day (March 10) and the upcoming 150th anniversary of Mie Prefecture in 2026.

About Oshawott and Mie Prefecture

Oshawott, a Pokémon featured in the Pokémon series games, was appointed as Mie Prefecture's official supporting Pokémon in December 2021. Through a comprehensive partnership agreement between Mie Prefecture and The Pokémon Company (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo), various regional collaboration products featuring Oshawott have been developed to promote local products and enhance the region's appeal.

To commemorate Oshawott Day on March 10 and the 150th anniversary of Mie Prefecture in 2026, this special afternoon tea will be available for two months in March and April 2026, showcasing a variety of dishes and sweets made with distinctive ingredients from Mie Prefecture.

Location: The Lobby Lounge

Time: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM (90-minute sessions)

Price: 4,400 yen per person ※ Advance reservation required by 6:00 PM the day before

Limited to 20 servings per day

Top Tier: Sparkling Sea Jelly, Pearl Honey Mousse Cake, Oshawott Macarons

Middle Tier: Mie Strawberry Tart, Oshawott Mie Meyer Lemon Cheesecake

Bottom Tier: Oshawott Cookies, Scones (Plain and Mie Ise Tea flavor)

Separate Plate: Mie Burger with Ise Lobster, Abalone, and Matsusaka Beef; Oshawott Hotachi Sandwich; Meharizushi (Mie's Traditional Dish)

Beverages include teas from "Taylors of Harrogate," a brand by appointment to the British Royal Family, as well as Mie Ise Japanese black tea, European blend coffee, and iced tea.

Sweets on top tier

The menu features sparkling sea jelly inspired by the glittering waters of Toba Bay, pearl mousse cake representing Toba as the birthplace of pearl cultivation, and two-toned macarons filled with salt vanilla, all designed with Oshawott in mind.

Savory items on separate plate

The separate plate includes a luxurious mini burger stacked with Ise lobster, abalone, and Matsusaka beef, along with sandwiches made with bread cut into the shape of Oshawott's "Hotachi" (the shell on its belly), and meharizushi, a traditional dish from Mie Prefecture.
