Tsumagoi Prince Hotel Debuts Pair Disc Golf and Tsumagoi Highland Cabbage Pizza Plan This Autumn

Set at an elevation of 1,100 meters and surrounded by rich nature, Tsumagoi Prince Hotel (Tsumagoi Highlands, Tsumagoi Village, Gunma Prefecture; General Manager: Akihiro Funayama) is a highland resort with sweeping views of Mt. Asama and wide open lawns. This autumn, in the crisp air of the highlands, the hotel is introducing a brand-new activity for the season — disc golf — through its "Pair Disc Golf & Tsumagoi Highland Cabbage Salad Pizza Plan," designed for couples and partners to enjoy together with ease. Guests move their bodies in the refreshing 1,100-meter highland air, then savor a salad pizza made with cabbage from Tsumagoi Village, Japan's top producer of summer and autumn cabbage — an autumn-only plan that combines a "sporty autumn" with an "appetite for autumn."

"When was the last time the two of you laughed together?"

Tsumagoi Village is known as a sanctuary for devoted husbands. Amid clear air and a sprawling lawn field — a course roughly 440 meters long — guests throw discs, then after playing enjoy a salad pizza generously topped with Tsumagoi-grown cabbage. Rather than simply competing across all nine holes, the plan is about moving your bodies together, tasting food together, and laughing together. It's an autumn pair experience perfect for couples, but also fun among friends.

A "Just-Right" Sport for Pairs

Disc golf is a sport in which players throw a flying disc into a designated goal without using balls or clubs. Its appeal is that people of any age or fitness level can enjoy it together. For those who feel "golf is a bit of a hurdle" or want "a new experience to enjoy with a partner," it's an activity that naturally sparks conversation.

Play uses only the rental discs provided by the hotel; personal discs are not permitted.

After the Disc, Savor Another Kind of "Disc"

Lunch after play centers on a salad pizza starring cabbage from Tsumagoi Village. After enjoying throwing a disc, guests savor another kind of "disc" — pizza — for a playful lunchtime. Tsumagoi Village is Japan's largest producer of summer and autumn cabbage. Grown in well-drained soil enriched with volcanic ash from Mt. Asama and shaped by the local climate, Tsumagoi cabbage is known for its freshness and sweetness. The salad pizza in this plan is served "Cabbage Mountain" style, piled roughly 11 centimeters high or more, evoking the majestic form of Mt. Asama and making for a photogenic dish. The 11-centimeter height carries a playful meaning as well: echoing the hotel's elevation of 1,122 meters, a number that can also be read as "ii fūfu," or "good couple," in Japanese, expressing a wish for guests to spend richer time with someone important to them.
