UNWIND HOTEL & BAR SAPPORO is bringing back its popular rooftop BBQ experience this summer with a revamped menu. Following strong demand from last year — with many guests asking "When does it start this year?" — the hotel has completely refreshed the lineup as "authentic American BBQ" and is accepting reservations as of June 11, 2026. The event runs from July 1 (Wednesday) through September 30 (Wednesday), 2026.

The menu is built around "Low and Slow" — the quintessential American BBQ technique of slow-cooking at low temperatures to bring out maximum flavor. All food preparation and cleanup are handled by the hotel, so guests simply arrive empty-handed. From finishing the pre-cooked meat to the perfect doneness to sharing easy conversation with friends and family, the experience is designed to let guests enjoy every aspect of BBQ without any hassle.

Leaner and smaller-boned than spare ribs, the baby back ribs are slow-cooked at low temperatures and repeatedly brushed with a housemade mustard sauce featuring Hokkaido linden honey. The result is pull-apart tender meat with a gentle sweetness that guests can finish to their preferred char level on the grill.

Short Plate (Beef Belly)

The beef belly is slow-cooked in the hotel kitchen for approximately five hours, producing a tender and juicy result that closely mirrors authentic American BBQ. A custom "spice rub" — a blend of paprika powder, garlic, spices, salt, and sugar — is designed to suit Japanese palates while staying true to American BBQ traditions. Guests can enjoy it as-is to savor the pure flavor of the meat, or pull it apart and load it into whole wheat buns or tortillas for a DIY burger or taco.

Self-Slider & Taco Set

Grilled meats can be tucked into whole wheat buns or tortillas along with Colby-Jack cheese and fresh vegetables, letting guests fully customize their own slider or taco.
