Question
I'm looking for a place where I can stay for a few days and experience the "old-fashioned island life." Are there any islands where I can experience traditional houses, fishing village scenery, and local food culture?

If you want to experience the relaxed atmosphere of an island, how about visiting the Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture?
The Kounoura area of Uku Island is particularly so, with the old port town preserved as it was along a quiet inlet. Just by walking the streets, you can feel the sounds and smells of daily life. It might seem like there's nothing, but that's what makes it rich... 😌
I've updated my blog about my trip to Uku Island, so please check that out as well.
