From September 2 (Wednesday) to 30 (Wednesday), 2026, DEK, a restaurant just steps from Omotesando Station, is serving a "Japanese Grape Afternoon Tea" built around shine muscat and other seasonal domestic grapes at their peak.
Shine Muscat, Nagano Purple, and Pione: An Autumn Tea Time Devoted to the Season's Grapes
DEK is run by a produce wholesaler with a 100-year history, and its second-floor restaurant, DEK DINING, is offering this limited-time afternoon tea featuring seasonal domestic grapes hand-selected from across Japan by fruit specialists.
Seven grape-forward sweets fill the six-tier stand.
The lineup makes generous use of grapes at their peak: shine muscat, prized for its strong sweetness and refined, refreshing aroma; Nagano Purple, a black grape from Nagano Prefecture known for its rich flavor built on fragrant juice and slightly astringent skin; and Pione, whose deep sweetness is balanced by a pleasant tartness.
The selection ranges from a Shine Muscat and Elderflower Shortcake, which layers the grape's flavor with elderflower's floral aroma, to a Nagano Purple and Cassis Mini Parfait, where cassis' tartness offsets the grape's rich sweetness, to a Pione and Rose Jelly, finished elegantly with rose's fragrant aroma — each dessert built to highlight what makes its grape distinctive.
DEK also stands out for its assortment of hand-picked seasonal domestic fruit, letting guests enjoy the character of grapes and other seasonal fruit in their own right.
Drinks are all-you-can-drink and include tea and coffee alongside house-made fruit vinegar soda made with seasonal fruit, for more than ten options in total.
The result is an autumn tea time built around the juicy sweetness and rich aroma of domestic grapes, selected with the eye of a produce wholesaler.

Savory Dishes Built Around Grapes and Autumn Flavors

Shine Muscat and Burrata Honey Toast (front in photo)
Toast brushed with butter and honey and baked until fragrant, topped with fresh shine muscat and burrata cheese. The cheese's gentle saltiness brings out the muscat's sweetness.
Duck and Chestnut Croquette (back in photo)
A croquette of domestic duck pâté and candied chestnuts, fried until fragrant and served with a rich raclette cheese sauce and shaved fresh truffle for an autumn-forward dish.
Fresh Seasonal Domestic Fruit

True to DEK's focus on fruit, a fresh fruit platter is also offered, drawing on seasonal domestic fruit hand-picked by buyers from the produce wholesaler at what is considered its peak ripeness.
Guests can enjoy the featured domestic fruit both in the sweets and savory dishes built around it, and in its own right, fresh and juicy, in the seasonal fruit platter.
