

FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto's tea salon "Salon de Thé FAUCHON" is bringing back its popular matcha afternoon tea collaboration with Tsujiri Heibei Honten, a long-established tea merchant founded in 1860 in Uji, Kyoto. The "FAUCHON Meets Matcha" series returns for its second edition, running from April 27 to June 19, 2026. A one-night matcha pairing dinner event will also be held at the hotel's rooftop restaurant "Grand Café FAUCHON" on June 25, 2026.

Matcha Afternoon Tea at Salon de Thé FAUCHON
The afternoon tea features sweets and savories made with high-quality matcha from Tsujiri Heibei Honten, blending French culinary technique with Japanese ingredients. Among the highlights is a popular mini parfait crafted with four types of tea — genmaicha, matcha, hojicha, and Earl Grey — finished at the table with a pour of genmaicha that creates a delightful layered flavor experience.




New this year is a lacquerware stand option, available for a maximum of 5 groups of 2 per day. The lacquerware stand exclusively features a special matcha mascarpone cream tiramisu, personally recommended by the pastry chef.

Matcha Pairing Dinner Event at Grand Café FAUCHON
On June 25, 2026, the rooftop restaurant "Grand Café FAUCHON" will host a special one-night dinner pairing event featuring Tsujiri Heibei Honten's matcha and other teas paired with a French course menu. Guests will enjoy a five-course seasonal tasting menu paired with five different tea drinks, engaging both taste and aroma throughout the evening.


Special guest Shinsuke Tsuji, president of Tsujiri Heibei Honten, will be in attendance to share insights on the world of Japanese tea.
