Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa Opens Limited Spring Tea Cafe "Saryo Cafe Keian" in Japanese Garden

Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa (Location: 3-13-1 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Yoshihisa Takahashi) will open "Saryo Cafe Keian," a hideaway cafe nestled in a corner of its Japanese garden, for a limited three days from March 20th (Friday, a national holiday) to 22nd (Sunday), 2026.

Located just a five-minute walk from Shinagawa Station, Saryo Keian in the hotel's Japanese garden is a Japanese-style space designed by Togo Murano, a representative architect of the Showa era who laid the foundation for modern architectural history. This spring, as a second installment following the summer 2025 edition, the hotel will operate a limited three-day Japanese cafe enveloped in cherry blossom pink, offering a relaxing moment in the heart of the city.

The menu features exclusive wagashi (Japanese sweets) specially created by the hotel's pastry chef, paired with sakura matcha latte. Additionally, on March 21st (Saturday) only, a special plan including an ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) workshop using spring flowers in cherry blossom colors will be available. Furthermore, guided tours of Saryo Keian will allow visitors to explore the beauty of traditional Japanese aesthetics in every detail.

For a delightful spring outing, the cafe offers a healing moment where both mind and body are satisfied in tranquil surroundings.

🌸 About "Saryo Keian"

A sukiya-style Japanese room designed in the late years of Togo Murano, a representative architect of the Showa era.

The design incorporates views of the Japanese garden, and the harmony of wood and natural light reveals Murano's sensibility throughout the space.

Opened in Showa 60 (1985), this hideaway stands gracefully in the metropolis, featuring multiple tea rooms and private rooms with designs inspired by Zangetsujo (remaining moon alcove) and Jo-an tea house aesthetics. It operates by reservation for gatherings and tea ceremonies. After climbing the stone steps in the garden and passing through the Amigasa-mon gate, you'll find a Japanese space that embodies the pinnacle of traditional Japanese beauty.
