Starting Saturday, August 1, 2026, Bar & Dining CLOUDS on the 35th floor of Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk — 123 meters above the ground — will begin serving "After 8," a nighttime afternoon tea enjoyed alongside Fukuoka's glittering cityscape. The ¥3,500 per-person plan starts at 8:00 PM (the "After 8" of the name) and includes a cocktail, mocktail, or a glass of sparkling wine, three kinds of snacks, and sweets wagon service.
Demand for "night cafes" — evening spots where alcohol isn't the main draw — has been rising in recent years, particularly among Gen Z, alongside a broader desire to spend evening hours at a relaxed pace. With "After 8," Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk proposes a new way to spend the night, pairing sweets and drinks with a view of Fukuoka's night skyline.
In addition to a sweets wagon service*1 offering a choice of any amount from six kinds of sweets, "After 8" pairs Bar & Dining CLOUDS' recommended seasonal cocktails, mocktails, and sparkling wine with snacks — olives, pretzels, and an assorted nut plate — served on cloud-shaped dishes, a nod to the restaurant's name.
The sweets wagon lineup changes with the season, offering six different sweets each time. August's recommendation is an original Basque Cheesecake, made rich and moist using plenty of Fukuoka Prefecture wheat, free-range eggs from Chikujo District in Fukuoka Prefecture, and cream cheese made from fresh Kyushu milk. The Berry and Pear Almond Tart pipes almond cream onto the base and bakes it until fragrant, then tops it with pear tossed in berry purée — a slightly grown-up sweet where the pear's sweetness meets the berries' tartness. The Apple and Walnut Roman Streusel tucks semi-dried apple slices and a house-made apple sauce into the cake batter, finished with a walnut crumble that adds a crisp, toasty accent to the sweet, moist apple cake.
