The all-day dining restaurant SATSUKI at Hotel New Otani Makuhari is holding the "Super Sweets Buffet 2026: Strawberry, Matcha & Mango" on weekends from May 9 (Saturday) to June 21 (Sunday), 2026. The buffet brings together sweets made with sweet-tart strawberries, fragrant matcha, and richly sweet mango, paired with a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.
A Lavish Trio: Strawberry, Matcha, and Mango for Early Summer

The "Super Sweets Buffet" series is held seasonally with a rotating theme of peak ingredients. For this early summer edition, the colorful lineup centers on refreshing strawberries, aromatic matcha, and richly sweet mango—a fitting selection to mark the arrival of the new season.
Four Shortcake Varieties to Taste Side by Side
The highlight of this buffet is a tasting comparison of four different shortcakes, including Hotel New Otani's signature "Super" series items.

Super Melon Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake

Shin-edo Matcha Shortcake

Mango Shortcake
The Super Melon Shortcake uses carefully selected Shizuoka-grown musk melons with a sugar content of 14 degrees Brix or higher. Every element—sponge, cream, and topping—has been crafted with care to highlight the fruit's juicy flavor, even in buffet-sized portions.
Joining it are three more varieties: the Strawberry Shortcake, a traditional hotel recipe celebrating the simple appeal of sweet-tart strawberries; the Shin-edo Matcha Shortcake, which blends Western and Japanese elements through matcha-infused sponge, brown sugar syrup, anko bean paste, and brown sugar jelly; and the Mango Shortcake, showcasing the soft, sweet flesh of fully ripe mango. The chance to enjoy all four side by side is available only during this limited period.

The buffet also includes a selection of refreshing glass desserts: Strawberry Jelly packed with the juice of fresh strawberries, and Shin-edo Kuzu Mochi Jelly, made using "Funahashiya" kuzu mochi lactic acid bacteria and topped with matcha kanten and tsubuan red bean paste, among others.
Japanese, Western, and Chinese Dishes for the Whole Family

Beyond the sweets, the buffet offers a diverse spread of savory dishes. Highlights include a made-to-order seafood donburi with ikura salmon roe and tuna, a sukiyaki donburi with a mildly sweet sauce, the hotel's classic roast beef, and freshly fried tempura—all prepared live at chef cooking stations.

Shirasu and Chiba Seaweed Pizza (Lunch only)

Sardine and Fennel Pizza Bianco (Dinner only)
Pizzas baked in the restaurant's stone oven vary by session: Shirasu and Chiba Seaweed Pizza is available at lunch, while Sardine and Fennel Pizza Bianco is served at dinner. Both are made with a chewy dough that traces its roots to authentic New York-style pizza.

Kids Corner
Family-friendly options such as karaage fried chicken, prawn cutlets, corn dogs, and omurice are also on offer, making the buffet enjoyable across three generations.
