Kyoto Century Hotel (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto) is holding "The Royal Lounge - Sweets Christmas -" (ザ ロイヤルラウンジ～スイーツクリスマス～), a sweets buffet served by dessert wagon, from Friday, December 4 to Friday, December 25, 2026. The buffet runs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, plus the weekdays from Monday, December 21 to Thursday, December 24, for a total of 14 sessions.
"The Royal Lounge" is a full-service sweets buffet offered at La Jyho Terrace (ラジョウ テラス), and this is its first Christmas edition. Under the theme "Sweets Christmas," the lineup features Christmas sweets that are decorated with as much care as their flavors. The buffet starts with a welcome dessert, "Christmas Gift" (クリスマスの贈り物), featuring a gingerbread house and snowmen. It continues with a "Strawberry Shortcake" inspired by a snow-covered townscape, sweets with reindeer and Christmas tree motifs, and savory dishes. Staff bring every item to the guest's table by wagon, so guests can spend a Christmas afternoon in a relaxed space filled with natural light from large windows.
Welcome Dessert: A Hexenhaus Called "Christmas Gift"

Guests are first welcomed with the welcome dessert "Christmas Gift," topped with a Hexenhaus (ヘクセンハウス). In Western countries, the Hexenhaus is a traditional winter sweet that families make and decorate together during the lead-up to Christmas. For this buffet, it is made as a Hexenhaus in which chocolate mousse is enclosed in gingerbread cookies.
The plate also includes a chocolate present box and smiling snowmen, making a fantasy-like dish that looks like something out of a picture book.

Staff bring the sweets and savory dishes to the table in this full-service wagon buffet. It can be used as a place to chat with friends, or as a solo treat ("ohitorisama" time) for oneself, with each guest spending the afternoon in their own style.
The highlight is the Christmas sweets created by the pastry team, such as "Hasty Santa Chocolate Panna Cotta" (あわてんぼうサンタのチョコレートパンナコッタ), "Reindeer Chocolate Banana Tart" (トナカイのチョコバナナタルト), and "Pistachio Tree Mousse" (ピスタチオのツリームース). Since everything, including the savory dishes, is received at the table, guests can enjoy their time without interruption.
