Relier81 Kimono and Obi Upcycling Brand to Hold Pop-Up Store at NEWoMan Yokohama, August 6–26, 2026

Under the concept of "giving Japan's traditional craftsmanship a new form," Relier81, a brand dedicated to upcycling kimono and obi fabrics, is holding a pop-up store at NEWoMan Yokohama for 21 days this summer, from August 6 (Thursday), 2026.

New designs join the popular square sandal line, now available in three heel heights for a comfortable fit that complements summer styling. The popular 2-way bag also welcomes a new model made with soft-colored apple leather.

The well-received stole returns in a new lineup featuring a variety of kimono fabrics. A basic-colored base cloth is subtly accented with traditionally black-dyed silk kimono fabric, finishing each piece with a touch of elegance for any outfit. Seasonless and versatile, it comes with buttons that allow for a range of styling arrangements.

Designed to be unisex, it is ideal both for personal use and as a gift.

In the apparel line, the previously sold-out beige wrap skirt is back in stock. This year, the outer linen fabric is offered exclusively in beige, allowing the kimono patterns and colors to stand out even more and add flair to any styling.

Because each piece uses a different kimono or obi, every item has its own one-of-a-kind character, with no two pieces exactly alike.

About Relier81

The name "Relier" comes from the French word for "to connect," while "81" is Japan's international dialing code — together expressing the meaning "to connect Japan with the world." Founded in Kyoto in 2018, the brand is committed to upcycling kimono and obi fabrics under the belief that Japan's traditions, culture, and artisan craftsmanship should be preserved for the long term.

In an era when there are fewer opportunities to wear kimono, countless beautiful kimono and obi lie unused. Wanting to make them more accessible in daily life by giving them a new form, and to create an opportunity for people to connect with Japanese traditional culture through its products, the brand currently offers items centered on women's shoes along with bags. Because the fabrics are drawn from Japan's traditional kimono and obi, every product is made in Japan, carefully crafted by hand by skilled artisans, one piece at a time.
