Chinese Restaurant SANGU in Osaka Introduces Original Blend Chinese Tea With Rose and Elderflower

Chinese Restaurant SANGU (中国料理 燦宮), located on the 39th floor of Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, has introduced a new original blend Chinese tea built around Wenshan Baozhong (文山包種), a lightly fermented oolong tea from Taiwan's Wenshan region known for its elegant floral aroma.

Grown in the misty mountains of Wenshan, where a rich natural environment, sharp day-to-night temperature swings, and high-quality water all come together, Wenshan Baozhong develops a refined, floral fragrance that sets it apart among lightly fermented oolong teas.

Using this tea as its base, the new blend combines rose red, elderflower, dried tangerine peel, and licorice. The result is a light, easy-drinking cup in which a floral aroma reminiscent of delicate blossoms meets the gentle sweetness of licorice and a refreshing accent from the citrus peel.

Its clean finish is designed to complement the refined flavors of the Cantonese cuisine served at SANGU, making it a graceful, relaxing pairing to enjoy alongside a meal.

Developed With Tea Specialists

The original blend was created in collaboration with MEIZAN TEA Co., Ltd. (明山茶業株式会社), a group of tea specialists holding certifications across Chinese, Japanese, and black tea, including a China-government-certified senior tea taster. The collaboration aimed to craft a blend exclusive to SANGU that pairs with its cuisine and leaves a pleasant impression after a meal.

An Original Blend Paired With SANGU's Cuisine

Building on the clear, gentle taste of Wenshan Baozhong, the blend layers in the floral aroma of rose and elderflower, while licorice's natural sweetness spreads smoothly through the cup. A finishing touch of dried tangerine peel adds a refreshing accent, rounding out a light, soothing cup of tea.

Combining floral fragrance with a full-bodied taste, the original blend Chinese tea is designed to complement the delicate flavors of Cantonese cuisine and add richness to the dining experience.
