In the Oku district (邑久町) of Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, Uchida Farm (内田農園) grows grapes using cultivation methods built around drawing out the fruit's natural strengths. Due to strong demand for its Shine Muscat and Muscat Jipang (マスカットジパング) grapes as Furusato Nozei (hometown tax donation) return gifts, the farm has extended the donation periods for both varieties.
The Shine Muscat donation period, originally set to close on August 31, has been extended to September 30. Muscat Jipang — a rare variety that only producers in Okayama Prefecture are permitted to grow — has been extended to September 15.
Donors hoping to catch this year's harvest, or to try grapes grown in Okayama's Setouchi region, now have additional time to apply.
At Uchida Farm, cultivation relies minimally on chemical fertilizers, drawing instead on microbial-based soil development. By bringing out the grapes' natural vitality, the farm aims for a mellow sweetness that lingers through the whole bite rather than a sharp, fleeting one.

Donation amount: ¥18,000 for 700g or more; ¥22,000 for 800g or more
Features: A seedless grape that can be eaten skin and all, known for its crisp texture and the rich aroma and juicy flesh that spreads with each bite.
Muscat Jipang
Donation amount: ¥35,000 for 900g or more; ¥36,000 for 1kg or more
Donation period: Extended to September 15, 2026 (Tuesday)
Features: A rare variety that only producers in Okayama Prefecture are permitted to grow, prized for bunches weighing 900g to 1kg or more and its notably large berries. Its rich flavor and satisfying bite have also made it popular as a special gift.
