ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Akita in Akita City is hosting the "Oga & Ogata Fair" from June 1 to August 31, 2026 — the first fair of its kind in Akita Prefecture. The event showcases seasonal ingredients from the Oga Peninsula and Ogata Village across three dining venues: a grill buffet, a teppanyaki counter, and a Cantonese restaurant.
About the Oga & Ogata Fair
Building on last year's "Oga Marugoto Fair," this year's edition has expanded to include Ogata Village — one of the leading production areas for Akitakomachi rice — alongside Oga City. The fair brings together the natural scenery, traditional culture, and food of both regions under one roof for the first time in the prefecture.
Throughout the fair period, the hotel offers special accommodation plans for guests who want to experience Akita's nature and traditions. Restaurant menus across the hotel feature dishes prepared by hotel chefs using seafood, vegetables, and rice from Oga City and Ogata Village, reflecting the coastal and agricultural heritage of the Oga Peninsula and Ogata Village geoparks.
New Buffet: "Grill & Roast Buffet" Oga & Ogata
The Sky Grill Buffet Restaurant SORA on the 12th floor offers open-air dining with views from 50 meters above ground. The new "Grill & Roast Buffet" Oga & Ogata features 40 dishes highlighting ingredients from Oga and Ogata, prepared using a variety of techniques including a stone oven made from Mount Fuji lava rock.

Highlighted Menu Items

Oga Snow Crab and Fresh Oga Fish Acqua Pazza — Snow crab from the waters of Oga is paired with the day's freshest local catch and simmered in a seafood broth that draws out the natural flavors of both ingredients.

Grilled Beef — Beef marinated in Ogata Village garlic, grilled to a fragrant finish, and served with seasonal vegetables from the village. Three varieties of Oga salt accompany the dish, each offering a distinct flavor.

Grilled Oga Sea Bass — Sea bass from the Oga coast is grilled until crisp on the outside and tender within. The refined umami and depth of flavor reflect the produce of the Oga sea.

Young Chicken Cumin Grill with Oga Salt — Young chicken seasoned with Oga salt is grilled with fragrant cumin, delivering a juicy and aromatic combination with each bite.

Akita Pork Belly Char Siu with Ine to Agave Fermented Mayo and Ogata Village Miso — A collaboration dish using fermented mayo from Oga-based craft sake brewery Ine to Agave and handmade miso from Ogata Village, capturing the fermentation culture that Akita is known for.

Ogata Village Potato Roast with Butter — Fluffy potatoes from Ogata Village roasted and finished with butter. The natural sweetness of the potato and the richness of the butter pair well with both meat and fish dishes.
