From November 9 (Mon) to 15 (Sun), 2026, the "Aomori Direct Market" (青森産直市) will be held at JR Ueno Station. The event is organized in cooperation with Aomori Prefecture, with the aim of revitalizing the region and creating tourism flow.
In addition to market stalls selling products from Aomori Prefecture, the event offers limited-quantity specialties carried to Tokyo by Shinkansen, a tourism PR booth, an opening ceremony, mascot greetings, and a raffle.

Tourism PR Booth
A tourism PR booth will be set up inside the market venue. It will show tourism PR videos of Aomori Prefecture, hand out pamphlets, and display posters.
Opening Ceremony
An opening ceremony for the Aomori Direct Market will be held on November 9 (Mon). Haneton, the tourism image character of Aomori City, is scheduled to appear, and the "JR Nebuta Hayashi-kai" (JRねぶた囃子会) is scheduled to perform nebuta-bayashi (Nebuta festival music).

Local Mascot Greetings
Local mascots from municipalities across Aomori Prefecture will appear, and visitors can take commemorative photos with them.
