Purpose of Hosting the "Hiroshima Furusato Festival"
Hiroshima served as the G7 Summit venue in 2023, and in 2024 recorded 14.34 million tourist arrivals, the highest since statistics began. Furthermore, 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, a significant milestone. Against this backdrop, attention to Hiroshima Prefecture has been steadily increasing in recent years.
To further expand this momentum, we have focused on "food," which is particularly approachable and has high communication power among Hiroshima's attractions, aiming to create opportunities for more people to visit Hiroshima.
Blessed with a mild climate and abundant seafood and mountain produce, Hiroshima is truly a gourmet treasure trove. By strengthening the recognition of "Hiroshima = Gourmet," we aim to use food as an entry point for people to experience Hiroshima's multifaceted appeal, including its "scenery," "culture," and "people," encouraging more visitors to Hiroshima.
