BELLUSTAR TOKYO, A Pan Pacific Hotel (Shinjuku, Tokyo, General Manager: Katsushi Nishikawa) will offer a pairing set "Bellustar Journey ~ Tsunuki Goto Whisky Experience ~" at its 45th-floor main bar "Bar Bellustar" from January 12, 2026 to March 15, 2026. This experience features carefully selected spirits paired with ingredients nurtured by the same terroir.
A Marriage of Spirits and Local Ingredients: The 11th Edition Features Kagoshima, Home of Whisky
"Bellustar Journey" is a pairing set that celebrates the marriage of spirits and ingredients from the same terroir, created through collaboration between the hotel's bartender and chef. Building on the success since its launch, this 11th edition takes guests on a journey to Kagoshima through the collaboration of Beverage Director Shigeki Yoshida and Restaurant Bellustar Chef Munehiro Takesue.
The featured spirit is Tokyu Hotels' original whisky "Single Malt TSUNUKI Special Edition Goto" (hereafter "Tsunuki Goto"). It is the second original whisky following "Single Malt Komagatake Special Edition Goto," distilled at Mars Tsunuki Distillery (Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture) operated by Honbo Shuzo Co., Ltd., which aims to create authentic whisky that reflects Japan's terroir. Beverage Director Shigeki Yoshida participated as a project member in the barrel selection process.

The food is a single dish featuring Kagoshima black pork, an ingredient from the whisky's home region. The Kagoshima black pork is presented taco-style with the flavor of Satsuma miso, allowing guests to enjoy it casually in one hand, bar food style.
Savoring the Full Potential of "Tsunuki Goto": Enjoying the Cask Strength Neat and the Marriage with Food in Highball Form
"Tsunuki Goto" embodies the terroir of Tsunuki, Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima Prefecture, with its warm climate and temperature variations creating a rich maturity, combined with the softness from the spring water of Kuratayama. While being a heavily peated whisky at 50ppm, it features a gentle, sweet aftertaste of ripe fruit derived from cognac barrels, deeply packed with elements that Mars Tsunuki Distillery excels at. The cask strength expression can be enjoyed in various ways depending on preference and occasion, such as savoring the original aroma and flavor of the barrel-aged whisky, or adding a little water to open up the aroma and soften the taste.
"In this pairing set, you can enjoy the whisky's original aroma and flavor neat or on the rocks, while also experiencing its full potential in highball form. By mixing the smoky, fruity, and full-bodied 'Tsunuki Goto' with soda, the aromas expand and harmonize deeply with the pairing food's savory notes of Kagoshima black pork, its fat, saltiness, umami, and spicy sensations, creating a profound aftertaste."
(Beverage Director Shigeki Yoshida)

Pairing Food
"Kagoshima Black Pork Confit with Barley Miso Condiment, Taco Style"
This dish brings out the charm of Kagoshima black pork, a blessing from the same rich terroir that nurtured the whisky. Slowly fire-cooked Kagoshima black pork confit is tossed in a condiment based on Kagoshima barley miso and wrapped in tortillas, taco-style. For accent, instead of chili peppers, a Kyushu-style yuzu pepper salsa sauce and mild sour cream are added.
Casual yet with depth of flavor, the gentle sweetness of barley miso and the exquisite fat of black pork overlap with the whisky's aroma, creating the unity that only pairing can achieve.
