Premium Kudzu Ice to Launch October 10, 2025 at Furusato Stores and Online Shop
Following the success of their summer "Kudzu Bar" frozen treat that stays firm longer than regular ice cream, Kashō Furusato in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, launches an elevated winter version: "Premium Kudzu Ice." The new product maintains the signature chewy, mochi-like texture while delivering a richer, milk-forward flavor thanks to Hamamatsu's own Inasa Milk—a local brand known for its natural sweetness and depth. Unlike typical ice cream, this kudzu-based treat surprises with its satisfying bite.
The Key Ingredient: Inasa Milk from Hamamatsu
While summer ice cream focuses on refreshment, winter ice cream is enjoyed more as a small luxury or dessert experience. To match that shift, Premium Kudzu Ice was developed with a stronger milk presence and richer taste.
Kashō Furusato commits to using Hamamatsu-sourced ingredients in its kudzu ice products, so the milk base features local brand "Inasa Milk." This fresh dairy product offers the natural richness and sweetness of pure milk, giving Premium Kudzu Ice a creamy flavor that still feels light on the palate.
Rich Milk Flavor: The base combines the sweet, concentrated flavor of Inasa Milk with added condensed cream for extra richness. The sweetness is kept moderate, resulting in a clean finish rather than a heavy aftertaste.
Rich Chocolate Flavor: Chocolate and chocolate cream are carefully blended with Inasa Milk to create a flavor as dense as terrine or nama-chocolate, yet the sweetness remains restrained and the mouthfeel stays light.
Available in Two Formats: Bar and Cube
The winter-exclusive Premium Kudzu Ice launches in two styles.
The "Bar" format is a stick-type ice bar you can bite into directly—perfect for those who want to choose a single flavor and enjoy it with one hand.
The "Cube" format comes in a cup with six bite-sized pieces: three Rich Milk and three Rich Chocolate. This option suits anyone who wants to try both flavors or share with others.
