Hotel New Otani Tokyo's buffet and bar "VIEW & DINING THE SKY" is serving the "Super Afternoon Tea – Marron" from Tuesday, September 1 to Monday, November 30, 2026, pairing sweets from Patisserie SATSUKI's Super series and Pierre Hermé Paris with a breathtaking view.
A Dining Room With 360-Degree Panoramic Views Over Tokyo

"VIEW & DINING THE SKY" is a 360-degree panoramic restaurant born from the wish of founder Yonetaro Otani to "show visitors from around the world the Mount Fuji that Japan is proud of." On a clear afternoon, the view stretches from majestic Mount Fuji to Tokyo's famous landmarks and cityscape. In this sun-filled setting, the hotel presents a special afternoon tea featuring a beautiful lineup of hotel-made sweets and savory bites, offering guests a chance to enjoy fragrant tea and carefully crafted dishes alongside the ever-changing 360-degree scenery.
Compare Mont Blancs From Pierre Hermé Paris and Patisserie SATSUKI

Clockwise from back: "Super Mont Blanc," "New Mont Blanc," and "Mont Blanc Infiniment Vanille"
A dream tasting plate lets guests savor the autumn flavor of chestnut to the fullest.
Bread and cake shop "Patisserie SATSUKI" contributes two cakes. The first is the "Super Mont Blanc," which highlights the fluffy texture of specially selected Japanese chestnuts. Inside, layers of wasanbon vanilla mochi, crisp baked meringue, and whipped ganache come together beautifully, with a hint of "Hingya no Shio" salt bringing out the sweetness. The second is the "New Mont Blanc," a patissier favorite that wraps astringent-skin chestnuts and fresh cream in a rich paste made from specially selected Japanese chestnuts. Chestnut is used in the base as well, so every bite carries its flavor.
Pierre Hermé Paris adds the "Mont Blanc Infiniment Vanille" to the lineup. This delicate creation brings together chestnut with Tahitian, Mexican, and Madagascan vanilla, finished with a gentle hint of rum.
Enjoy three completely different takes on the ultimate Mont Blanc, all on a single plate.
Must-Try Hotel Signature Sweets, All on One Plate

Clockwise from front: "Super Melon Shortcake," "Napoleon Pie," "Sarah," and "Ispahan"
A single plate now brings together the hotel's most coveted signature sweets, the kind everyone hopes to try at least once. It starts with the "Super Melon Shortcake," Hotel New Otani's signature dessert made with muskmelon of 14% sugar content or higher. Alongside it sits the classic "Napoleon Pie," layering juicy strawberries and fragrant vanilla custard between crisp pastry, the "Ispahan," a beloved Pierre Hermé Paris signature with the elegant fragrance of rose and the sweet-tart flavor of raspberry, and the "Sarah," where the deep sweetness of chestnut meets the tartness of passion fruit and the gentle bitterness of matcha in perfect harmony. These long-loved classics are now gathered together on one plate.
The Hotel's Finest Savory Bites Yet

From front: "Oscietra Caviar and Crab Rémoulade with Celeriac," "Pan-Seared Scallop with a Red Jewel Garnish," and "Open-Faced Turkey Pastrami Sandwich"
Alongside the sweets, three original hotel-made savory dishes add depth to the afternoon tea. The lineup opens with a captivating dish that balances the salinity of luxurious Oscietra caviar with the sweetness of crab and the texture of celeriac, followed by a plate rich with the umami of the sea: a plump scallop seared to a fragrant finish and topped generously with salmon roe. Rounding out the trio is an open-faced sandwich made light with healthy soy milk cream that lets the ingredients' natural flavors shine. Together, they add even more depth to this blissful tea time.

Marron Scone
Rounding things out is a standout supporting player: a scone generously topped with whole chestnuts, pairing perfectly with tea. Enjoy this exceptional flavor that can only be tasted during this season.
A Blissful Tea Time Paired With Fragrant Tea

Founded more than 150 years ago in India's Darjeeling region, Makaibari Tea Estate is the area's oldest tea garden. Two-thirds of its vast grounds remain primeval forest, known as a natural haven for countless wild animals. Grown in harmony with nature using "biodynamic farming," the pinnacle of organic cultivation that uses no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, its tea leaves are of a caliber once presented to the late Queen Elizabeth. The "Super Afternoon Tea" lets guests enjoy this Darjeeling tea to their heart's content.
