From May 11 to July 12, 2026, the Lounge & Bar "Marine Blue" on the 2nd floor of the Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel (Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa) will be serving a "Melon Afternoon Tea" featuring seasonal melon used generously throughout the menu.

The afternoon tea brings together red-fleshed and green-fleshed melon transformed into a wide variety of preparations — jellies, purées, creams, and more — showcasing the fruit in an array of imaginative sweets.

The tea stand's top tier features highlights such as "Melon and Fromage Verrine" — a showstopping glass dessert layered with finely diced "concassé" of red and green melon, mascarpone chantilly and more — alongside a gleaming melon mousse coated in melon glacage, and a tart topped with fresh red and green fleshed melon on a tea-scented almond cream. The result is a collection of sweets where refreshing sweetness and gentle richness meld together, perfectly suited to the start of summer.

The second tier features "Melon Panna Cotta" — a smooth panna cotta generously topped with red melon jelly — along with a fresh melon shortcake, and "Melon Cookie Choux," a light, crisp pastry filled with a mildly sweet green melon cream. The tier presents a range of melon sweets with varying textures and flavors.

The savory plate on the third tier includes bruschetta topped with ricotta cheese and fig compote on a crunchy baguette, a hearty pie filled with beef fricassee slow-cooked in cream and bouillon, and a crystal jelly of shrimp and edamame set in tomato jelly. These savory bites add a pleasant saltiness and umami between the sweets. The scone selection rounds out the afternoon tea with a classic plain scone alongside a fragrant melon scone made with melon purée.
