As the season turns toward a bountiful autumn, Janu Tokyo in Azabudai Hills is rolling out a set of limited-time dining experiences designed to be enjoyed with all five senses. The lineup spans a reimagined afternoon tea at Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace, new seasonal pastries at Janu Patisserie, and a terrace dining plan with free-flow drinks at Janu Mercato.
Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace: Afternoon Tea

"Tea Trolley Afternoon Tea"
At Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace, where autumn light filters gently in alongside views of Azabudai Hills and Tokyo Tower, a new tea experience reinterprets Britain's traditional tea culture through Janu Tokyo's contemporary lens: the "Tea Trolley Afternoon Tea," available from October 13 (Tue). Guests are guided through a wide selection from Ronnefeldt, the long-established tea brand founded in 1823, delivered tableside via trolley service with a cup suited to each guest's mood and taste.
The trolley carries eight varieties of leaf tea in total, including the top-tier Tea Star Collection — offered only at select locations with a certified Ronnefeldt tea master on staff — alongside curated flavored and herbal teas. Staff bring the trolley to each table, showing tea leaf samples and suggesting a cup to match the moment. The tea is brewed in a pot and poured through a strainer in the traditional British style, served alongside freshly baked tea financiers and shortbread.
The three-tier stand presents classic flavors reimagined in a modern style, including scones and savories. Sweets include a modern Victoria cake layered with pistachio cream and raspberry jelly, a visually striking Eton mess, and an elegant éclair filled with tea cream, alongside a raisin and tea scone. Savories include a Coronation chicken sandwich balancing spice and gentle sweetness, a light gougère with cucumber and tuna sauce, a luxurious canapé topped with caviar and smoked salmon, and a gratin layered with roast beef and potato.

"Marron Afternoon Tea"
This seasonal afternoon tea centers on the rich sweetness of autumn ingredients — sweet potato, chestnut, and pumpkin — woven together with juicy grapes and shine muscat across six sweets and four savories.
The Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc, a signature autumn sweet, layers a generous swirl of Ehime-grown chestnut paste and gently sweetened kibi-sugar chantilly cream over a toasted meringue base. The savory "chicken and chestnut quiche with hojicha cream" pipes a delicately hojicha-scented cream over a chicken and chestnut quiche base — its Mont Blanc-like appearance hides a layered flavor of sweet chestnut, savory chicken, and fragrant hojicha.
Guests can enjoy the plan with a selection of teas, coffee, and mocktails for a relaxed autumn tea time.

Janu Patisserie: Three Autumn Sweets

Janu Patisserie introduces three new autumn sweets from September 8 (Tue), bringing a colorful accent to the season's tea time.
"Marron Chocolate Shortcake"
Chocolate and marron form beautiful layers in this shortcake, with a rich cream blending two premium French chocolates that highlight the natural depth of chestnut. Chestnuts with their inner skin (shibukawa) intact are sandwiched between the deep, aromatic chocolate cream for contrast in flavor and texture, finished with marron glacé for a luxurious, autumn-only treat.
"Shine Muscat Tart"
A tart shell baked with the rich aroma of almond cream is layered with smooth, vanilla-scented custard cream, then generously topped with plump, juicy shine muscat grapes. The result is a glossy, jewel-like seasonal tart balancing elegant sweetness with a refreshing tartness.
"Fig Tart"
This seasonal tart pairs the natural sweetness of in-season domestic figs with a fragrant Earl Grey custard cream. The crisp tart shell carries the rich aroma and depth of butter, adding further complexity. Its striking appearance also makes it a fitting choice for gifting or takeout.

Janu Mercato: Free-Flow Terrace Dining

"Autumn Harvest on Terrace"
Janu Mercato, the lively Italian dining concept inspired by classic Italian markets, begins "Autumn Harvest on Terrace" on September 8 (Tue). The plan is served on the terrace that connects seamlessly to the Azabudai Hills central plaza with views of Tokyo Tower, pairing vividly colored seasonal dishes with free-flow Italian beer and wine for a picnic-style meal. The terrace welcomes groups of friends and dogs alike, set in a green, open-air space with a gentle autumn breeze.
The set offers seven shareable dishes, from appetizers such as domestic prosciutto with Parmesan and mussels steamed in white wine, to two kinds of sandwiches, and a main of grilled Iwate Oshu Iwai chicken. Among them, the panzanella — a traditional Italian salad packed with autumn's bounty — combines seasonal vegetables such as chestnut, Japanese pear, lotus root, and mushroom with large-cut focaccia croutons, finished with a sweet-and-tangy white balsamic dressing. Another standout is the roasted beet dish, featuring red and yellow beets paired with a fresh cheese sauce made from mozzarella, burrata, blue cheese, and Parmesan, generously dressed with honey and hazelnut.
