"Keropetino PETIT MASCOT Cream Soda" (6 varieties / 400 yen per try, tax included) is heading to capsule toy vending machine corners nationwide starting late May 2026. The series marks the second capsule toy lineup based on Keropetino, an original character by Noriya Takeyama, who is known for popular soft vinyl figures such as Keronen and Koijaras.
About Keropetino PETIT MASCOT Cream Soda (6 Varieties)
The lineup features two character types. Otamanokaris — a tadpole in temporary form characterized by a round silhouette and a charming blank expression — comes in three variants: Merotama, Aotama, and Sutotama. The bipedal, round-eyed Keropetino comes in Meropechino, Aopechino, and Sutopechino, bringing the total to six varieties.
In terms of articulation, Otamanokaris has a movable neck joint, while Keropetino features movable joints at the neck and all four limbs.
All six pieces share a vivid cream soda-inspired look: clear bodies with a gradation that transitions from a deeper hue at the base to white toward the top. Despite their palm-sized compact dimensions, the figures closely replicate the visual style of actual soft vinyl collectibles.
Each mascot is packaged inside a new-design logo-printed petit cup exclusive to this second series. They can be displayed as-is in the cup; Keropetino figures with their articulated limbs can also be posed with hands resting on the cup's rim, making for a distinctive desk display piece.

About the Creator: Noriya Takeyama

Noriya Takeyama organizes Melhenz, a company specializing in planning, design, and character goods production. After launching hit products as a planner for girls' toys, he went independent and expanded his work to include film character collaborations for overseas markets. His creations draw from childhood memories of familiar pond creatures — frogs, goldfish, carp, and turtles — and include characters such as Koijaras, Keronga, poolys, and Dokukkino, among others. A collaboration with illustrator and modeler Hiroshi Yokoyama resulted in the new character "Keronen." Takeyama has also served as an instructor in the Character Design Department at the Amusement Media Academy since 2005.
