KIMONO ARCH × YEAH RIGHT!! Second Collaboration Launches One-of-a-Kind Haori and Kimono Blending European Tablecloths with Japanese Kimono Fabric

KIMONO ARCH, a brand operated by Yamato Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), is launching its second collaboration collection with remake brand YEAH RIGHT!! starting Saturday, July 4, 2026.

This collection brings together the vintage European tablecloths that YEAH RIGHT!! has long worked with and the kimono fabric developed by KIMONO ARCH alongside production regions across Japan — all crafted into one-of-a-kind haori and kimono pieces.

Europe and Japan. Western clothing and kimono. The past and the everyday future.

The collection emerges from the meeting of materials carrying different cultures and backgrounds, proposing new possibilities in dress that cross the boundaries of existing values and genres. To coincide with the release, an interview feature with YEAH RIGHT!! designers Keita Kawamura and Michiko Imura, and KIMONO ARCH brand director Mayu Kaneko, will also be published.

The tablecloths featured in this collection are vintage European pieces carefully selected by YEAH RIGHT!!. Hand embroidery and lacework are woven into each cloth, carrying within them memories of meals shared with family and friends, and the inherited rhythms of daily life. No two cloths have the same expression; each holds its own singular story.

Combined with these is kimono fabric that KIMONO ARCH has developed in collaboration with production regions (産地, sanchi) across Japan. Leftover fabric (hagire) generated during the kimono-making process is repurposed with care — each piece reconstructed by hand, honoring the background and appeal of the material, and with the wearer in mind.

The placement of embroidery, the tone of the fabric, the balance of panels — no two combinations are the same. Every piece is a true one of a kind.

While treating the culture and memory embedded in each material with respect, the collection also brings out the inherent appeal of every element, resulting in garments that invite you to reach for them.

Crossing Cultural and Genre Boundaries Toward New Expression

KIMONO ARCH is a brand built on the concept of "seeing the world through kimono," acting as a bridge connecting the world and Japan, and kimono and people. The ambition to expand the possibilities of wearing kimono freely as fashion led to this creative exchange with YEAH RIGHT!!.

Since 2005, YEAH RIGHT!! has been producing entirely unique clothing centered on remakes using used items. Each piece is individually selected, washed, deconstructed, cut, and sewn — with close attention given to the time and context embedded in the material, reinterpreting its character into new garments.

What both brands share is a perspective that finds new possibilities in what already exists.

Noticing the appeal that lives within a piece of fabric. Bringing together things from different backgrounds. Creating new expression that crosses the boundaries of existing values, genres, and cultures.

This collection came to life through the overlapping sensibilities of both brands.

Comments

YEAH RIGHT!! Designers Keita Kawamura and Michiko Imura:

"The curatorial instinct and sense of mixing in Japan — the culture of 'mitate,' of seeing one thing as another. Just as mentaiko pasta or anko butter toast naturally bring different things together and embrace them as something new, I think Japanese remakes carry that same spirit. KIMONO ARCH is a brand approaching kimono and fashion with that exact sensibility. Both kimono and remake clothing have each pursued their own expression from a position slightly apart from fashion's mainstream — and that is precisely why we believe we can challenge expression that transcends 'fashion' as a category."

KIMONO ARCH Brand Director Mayu Kaneko:

"European tablecloths and Japanese kimono fabric. Two cultures that would not ordinarily have crossed paths now meet here, and through that meeting, I felt how powerfully the possibilities of kimono can expand. Wearing it as a kimono. Enjoying it as a haori. Incorporating it into daily life like a robe. The freedom to move between these different ways of wearing is one of the distinctive charms of this collection. I hope that the surprise and joy that YEAH RIGHT!! brought to me can reach you through these pieces as well."
