Kyukamura Sanuki Goshikidai Launches Strawberry Fair Featuring Local Kagawa Strawberries at Dinner Buffet Starting January 15th

Kyukamura Sanuki Goshikidai, a resort hotel perched on high ground offering panoramic views of the Sanuki Plain and the Seto Ohashi Bridge, renovated on March 27, 2026, in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture (General Manager: Masahiro Ishibashi), launches its "Strawberry Fair" on Thursday, January 15th. The fair features locally-sourced strawberries at the dinner buffet's dessert corner as part of the "Kagawa's Delicious Foods Buffet - Winter" menu.

Additionally, the hotel is simultaneously hosting a "Warm Hot Pot Fair" where guests can enjoy winter delicacies including oysters, Olive Yellowtail, Himawari Beef, and Olive Pork from Kagawa, combined with their choice of broth such as soy milk or kimchi to create original hot pot dishes.

Strawberry Fair Starting January 15th - Enjoy Local Strawberries at Dinner Buffet

The dinner buffet's dessert corner features peak-season local strawberries including "Sanuki Hime," Kagawa Prefecture's original variety, as well as "Kaorino" and "Yotsuboshi."

Guests can enjoy the fresh, juicy fruit itself, along with strawberry-based sweets. By adding sweet-and-sour strawberries to the winter buffet filled with warm dishes, the restaurant creates moments where visitors can feel the changing seasons while overlooking the Setouchi scenery.

Ichigo-ya Sky Farm in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture

This fair primarily uses strawberries from local farms, including "Sky Farm," a strawberry farm in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture.

Ichigo-ya Sky Farm focuses on "aerial cultivation," growing fruit suspended in the air. Since the fruit doesn't touch the ground, pests from the soil are less likely to attach, allowing cultivation with reduced pesticide use.

Additionally, strawberries are easily damaged fruit due to having no skin, but aerial cultivation prevents the fruit from being scratched, resulting in visually beautiful, high-quality strawberries.
