Shinagawa Prince Hotel (4-10-30 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager Shingo Haruyama) is introducing a collaboration menu marking the 40th anniversary of the globally loved manga Chibi Maruko-chan, available from Thursday, October 1, 2026 through Monday, February 15, 2027 at Chinese Restaurant Shinagawa Daihanten and Boulangerie Shinagawa.
Riding the wave of "Cool Japan" content beloved across generations and borders, the hotel worked with its chefs and bakers to reimagine the gentle world created by author Momoko Sakura through Chinese cuisine and bread, marking the character's first-ever collaboration with Chinese cuisine. Character-motif dishes invite guests to spend a delightful time immersed in the world of the manga.
At Chinese Restaurant Shinagawa Daihanten, an afternoon tea brings together authentic dim sum such as xiaolongbao and jade dumplings with Chinese-style sweets like almond tofu and Taiwanese castella cake, all decorated with motifs of familiar characters including Maruko, Tamachan, and Hanawa-kun. Tables are set with an original "Chinoiserie Blue" placemat made exclusively for the collaboration, its elegant blue tones setting off the tea stand beautifully and bringing together the world of Chibi Maruko-chan with authentic Chinese cuisine. Guests who prefer a full meal can instead choose the Chibi Maruko-chan Hanten Lunch Set, built around a nostalgic Showa-era Chinese noodle dish.
Meanwhile, Boulangerie Shinagawa is selling a flower-shaped bread inspired by the chinoiserie motif of flowers, generously filled with smooth custard cream. During the collaboration period, a Maruko-themed concept room, photo spots, and a stamp rally are also set up around the hotel, filling Shinagawa Prince Hotel with adorable Maruko characters.
