Tokyo Station Hotel, located inside the Marunouchi Station Building of Tokyo Station (1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda City, Tokyo), reached its 111th anniversary on Monday, November 2, 2026.
The hotel opened in 1915, one year after Tokyo Station opened, and has watched the changing times alongside the station building ever since. The station building was designated a national Important Cultural Property in 2003 and regained its original appearance following preservation and restoration work in 2012. The hotel continues to welcome many guests while preserving this historic architecture.
According to the hotel, its appeal lies in spending quiet, refined time away from the bustle of the station even though it is inside Tokyo Station, and in staying within a nationally designated Important Cultural Property where guests can feel its history and design up close.
To mark the anniversary, the hotel is introducing its "Hotel Tour," in which hotel staff guide guests through the building. Learning about the hotel's history, architectural highlights, and the stories handed down within the building is meant to make a stay or a meal there more meaningful. For visitors to Tokyo Station, the hotel inside the station building offers a chance to hear the stories that have been passed down over the years.
