Observatory Restaurant LAPUTA, located on the 10th floor of Fukuoka Sun Palace Hotel & Hall in Hakata, is hosting a special peach-themed French lunch course called "La Pêche" (ラ・ペッシュ) from July 1 to August 31, 2026. Every element of the course — from appetizer and soup to the main dish, dessert, and even the bread confiture — features peach as a central ingredient.
In French, "La Pêche" means "peach," and with a question mark added it doubles as a casual greeting meaning "feeling good?" Peaches are regarded as a symbol of vitality, and this course aims to help guests stay energized through the heat of summer. This marks the first time Head Chef Kenji Sakamoto — known for themed courses centered on strawberries, grapes, and other seasonal themes — has created a menu entirely dedicated to peaches.
Course Menu

Appetizer: White Peach, Mozzarella, and Colorful Tomato Gelée with Capellini and Paprika Sauce

Soup: Chilled White Peach and Carrot Soup

Main Course: Sautéed Kagoshima Taka-Ebi Prawn with Olive Fragrance, Served with Prosciutto and Yellow Peach Risotto
Fresh enough to be eaten as sashimi, the Kagoshima Taka-Ebi prawns are pan-seared in olive oil and finished with a hint of citrus. Paired with a prosciutto and yellow peach risotto, the dish achieves a harmony of sweetness, saltiness, and umami that feels right at home in summer.

Dessert: White Peach Compote with Hibiscus Gelée and Coconut Ice Cream
Bread: Focaccia with White Peach Confiture
Coffee, tea, or herbal tea is included.
