On September 9, 2026 — the museum's own "Chameleon Day," inspired by the way a chameleon's curled tail resembles the numeral 9 — Nara Ikimono Museum in Nara City opens the "Chameleon Observation Camp" exhibition, running through September 30. Visitors can see four chameleon species, including Oustalet's chameleon, whose total length can reach nearly 70 cm, the longest in the chameleon family.
